A Performance Of Kristin Chenoweth's Broadway Musical On The Twentieth Century Was Halted This Week (Beg22jun15) Due To A Fire Scare.
The show was stopped during the second act on Wednesday night (24Jun15) when a smoke alarm sounded, prompting staff to turn on the house lights as firefighters arrived.
Chenoweth's co-star Peter Gallagher walked back onstage in a bid to keep the audience entertained during the break by talking to them and answering questions, and the actress was later escorted back on by two firemen.
A source tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, "Kristin convinced two of the firemen to escort her back on the stage to restart her scene once they were ready to begin the show again."
The show was restarted after firefighters had inspected the American Airlines Theatre and given the all-clear.
