Steve Jobs is widely regarded as a pioneer in the age of technology, making the computer accessible to all with his billionaire organisation Apple Inc. Though as much as he was a genius, he made a lot of enemies on his way to fame, fortune and recognition while relying on his skilled best friend Steve Wozniak. He refused to co-operate with much of the staff at Apple including CEO John Sculley, and henceforth detached himself from the company, but meanwhile his personal life was no more amicable. Refusing to be a father to his college girlfriend Chrisann Brennan's daughter Lisa and denying all paternity shone a bad light on him in the eyes of his family, his colleagues and the public especially when paternity was proven. But upon his return to Apple came a new man, humbled by his previous behaviour and willing to be both a father and a fair businessman. But of all the sacrifices he made to make Apple great, his health suffered most of all.

'The Maze Runner' and 'Neighbors' also scooped awards.
It's difficult to argue with the results of this year's MTV Movie Awards victors, who took home their much-deserved accolades on Sunday (April 12th 2015). The top prize of Movie Of The Year went to Josh Boone's adaptation of the John Green novel 'The Fault In Our Stars' - but who else won big at the 2015 ceremony?
Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley in 'The Fault In Our Stars'
Shailene Woodley took home a couple of awards herself; first for Best Female Performance in 'The Fault In Our Stars', and second for Best Kiss with Ansel Elgort. 'The Maze Runner' star Dylan O'Brien also won big, landing Breakthrough Performance, Best Hero and, of course, Best Fight with Will Poulter. O'Brien will reprise his role in the upcoming sequel 'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials'. Meanwhile, Zac Efron's abs in 'Neighbors' predictably won him Best Shirtless Performance, while his onscreen chemistry with Dave Franco made them Best Duo. 'Neighbors' was also the winner of Best WTF Moment, with Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne taking home the award.

Universal unveiled plans for a sequel to last summer's comedy blockbuster on Friday, which will reunite the original cast and take a female twist on the original.
Look out for more inter-generational banter coming next year! Seth Rogen and Zac Efron are to team up once again for Neighbors 2.
Universal has announced a sequel to last summer’s hugely successful comedy that is set to reunite the original cast with a host of fresh faces. In news first broken by the Hollywood Reporter, Rose Byrne will return as Rogen’s on-screen wife, and director Nicholas Stoller is signed on once more.

There's half of a great satire here, as Seth Rogen, James Franco and Evan Goldberg combine that freewheeling mayhem from This Is the End with some more pointed political comedy. But in its second half, the script begins to repeat its less-funny jokes, wallowing in smutty gags and excessive violence. These things may please the chuckleheads in the audience, but they wear everyone else out. And they make us work to see the film's much more enjoyable brom-com plot and sharp social commentary.
The story is centred around swaggering TV personality Dave Skylark (Franco), whose chat show majors in shocking celebrity revelations like Eminem's homosexuality or Rob Lowe's baldness. Dave's producer Aaron (Rogen) is feeling like a second-class newsmaker when he discovers that North Korean despot Kim Jong-un (Randall Park) is a fan of Dave's show and is willing to be interviewed live on camera. Then before they can head off, two CIA operatives (Lizzy Caplan and Reese Alexander) convince Dave and Aaron to assassinate Kim with a deadly drug. And when they arrive in Pongyang their mission is complicated when Aaron falls for Kim's media director Sook (Diana Bang) and Dave falls for Kim himself.
Yes, the film has a fairly standard romantic-comedy structure, as Dave and Aaron's close friendship is strained to the breaking point by the arrival of another man. Virtually all of the dialogue is infused with gay innuendo, double entendres and full-on sex jokes. Some of this is genuinely hilarious, such as the first time Dave and Kim discover their mutual love of Katy Perry's Firework. Then that joke is brought back four or five times, so by the end it's not even mildly amusing. Pretty much every gag in the film is beaten to death, even the ones that weren't funny to begin with. Thankfully, the actors' energy never flags.

October 9th release date for the Boyle / Sorkin collaboration, just in time for awards season.
The troubled Steve Jobs biopic has finally announced a theatrical release date of October 9th this year. Strangely enough, that’s exactly the kind of time that judges start to think about awards nominations…
Shooting for the film, which has been the centre of a great deal of speculation because of its lengthy gestation and uncertain funding, began last month in San Francisco and Silicon Valley. Danny Boyle, the man behind cult favourites such as Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire and 28 Days Later, as well as the London Olympics opening ceremony in 2012, is in the director’s chair.

'The Interview' is heading to Netflix.
Streaming service Netflix is to add the controversial comedy The Interview to its U.S. and Canadian catalogue beginning Saturday January 24, the company announced on Tuesday (January 18, 2014).
Seth Rogen [L] and James Franco [R] star in The Interview
As previously reported, Netflix had begun talks with Sony about licensing The Interview to streaming subscribers after Starz released the pay-TV window rights. However, Sony wanted to maximise digital and VOD sales and, as of Sunday, The Interview had generated more than $40 million in revenue through 5.8 million rentals.

It could yet end happily ever after for 'The Interview', as Netflix secures a deal with Sony Pictures to make the controversial comedy available to its American and Canadian subscribers.
It’s been quite a turnaround for The Interview in the last month. A little over four weeks ago, the Sony picture had been seemingly consigned to the dustbin following the studio’s cancellation of its release in the face of threats from cyberhackers.
But following its resounding success in its limited digital release, the rumoured Netflix deal has come to pass. Late on Tuesday, the online streaming service announced that the comedy would be available to its US and Canadian subscribers.

The remarkable story of the once-cancelled comedy continues, with plans for a European theatrical release and a rumoured Netflix deal.
The revival of The Interview, which so recently seemed to be doomed to the dustbin of movie history, continues unabated. Following the remarkable box office figures returned upon its limited release across the States, streaming service Netflix has tentatively expressed an interest in making the film available to its subscribers.
On Wednesday, Netflix’s chief content officer Ted Sarandos said in a press conference “People want to see the movie and we want to be able to deliver the movie.” However, he would not elaborate on the details of any efforts to secure the film. Sony Pictures had no comment on the possibility of such a deal either.

The political comedy, starring James Franco and Seth Rogen, has been well-received in spite of its limited release.
Sony’s last minute Christmas Eve change of heart seems to have paid off, with its controversial film The Interview taking more than $15 million in online sales and rentals, it has been revealed.
In addition to the $2.8 million it made from its four-day opening run over 331 independent theaters that arranged to show the film on December 25th, good enough to put at 16th place in the box office charts, the comedy has become Sony’s highest grossing online release ever, according to Variety.
The Interview has made over $15 million in online rentals and purchases since its availability on December 25th.

After a bumpy start, the movie has found its footing.
So The Interview has received a fair bit of backlash for turning a complex political conflict into a raging bro fest, but creators Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Dan Sterling are laughing all the way to the bank. It didn’t matter that the Sony hack and threats resulted in the movie being pulled from theatres. After its Wednesday release, The Interview made $15 million on online sales alone.
If you were offended by The Interview, this information might make your head explode.
In just three days following Christmas Eve, The Interview has gone on to become Sony’s most downloaded title of all time. So... er... given the terrible reviews and comments online, are we seeing reverse psychology at work here? Or just good old fashioned American rebellion?

'The Interview' will screen after all, in some U.S theaters.
After the news that several theaters in the U.S are to screen the controversial comedy movie The Interview, Sony Pictures CEO Michael Lynton has insisted the studio did not cave under extreme pressure from North Korea to pull the film. Lynton spoke to CNN's Faree Zakaria and addressed comments made by President Barack Obama that Sony made a mistake by cancelling the release.
Seth Rogen [L] and James Franco [R} star in The Interview - which some movie theaters will screen from Christmas Day
"No [We did not make a mistake]. I - I think, actually, the unfortunate part is, in this instance, the president, the press and the public are mistaken as to what actually happened."

'The Interview' will be given a limited release on Christmas Day and Seth Rogen, James Franco and President Obama are amongst those celebrating.
The Interview will be shown in limited cinemas in the US from Christmas Day. Sony Pictures Entertainment has granted the film's release despite threats from hackers directed at cinema goers. Mounting political pressure, including a number of statements released by President Barack Obama, is believed to have contributed to Sony's decision to release The Interview.
