Veteran Actress Valerie Harper Has Reached Out To Fans Online To Clear Up Rumours Surrounding Her Recent Health Scare, Insisting She Was Never In A Coma.
The Mary Tyler Moore Show star, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2013, was hospitalised in Maine on Wednesday night (29Jul15) after falling ill while preparing to hit the stage for the Ogunquit Playhouse's production of Nice Work If You Can Get It.
She was discharged from the medical facility on Thursday morning (30Jul15), with a representative insisting the stay was just a "precaution", but some reports suggested Harper had actually been hospitalised as she had fallen into a coma.
Now the 75 year old, who is also a lung cancer survivor, has addressed the claims herself in a Facebook.com message, suggesting her weak spell was down to an issue with her medication.
In the post, she writes, "My dear friends and fans! As always, thank you for your amazing support. I am happy to report I am not, nor have I been, in a coma. As anyone who has taken strong medication knows, it doesn't always agree with you, even with me as this experience proves.
"I am confronting these hurdles with my usual enthusiasm and love of life. Much love, Valerie."
