Zayn Malik has announced his first-ever solo tour.

The 31-year-old singer is heading out on the road this autumn for the first time since leaving One Direction in 2015 in support of his fourth solo album 'Room Under The Stairs', which was released in May.

Zayn will begin the 'Stairway To The Sky' tour with gigs in the US – beginning in San Francisco on October 23 and taking in stops in Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Washington DC before the North American leg concludes in New York City on November 2.

The 'Pillowtalk' hitmaker will then be heading to the UK for six performances starting in Edinburgh on November 20. He will play in Leeds, Manchester, London and Wolverhampton before the tour ends with a show in Newcastle on December 3.

Zayn announced the tour in a surprise walk-on skit on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' on Tuesday (17.09.24) and took to social media to express his joy that he will be touring again.

He said in a new Instagram post: "Appreciate your patience, love, and support. Can't wait to enjoy great music together. This time I really mean soon. See you in 35 days..."

Zayn played his first live gig in support of the album at London's O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire earlier this year. He had been meant to hit the road in 2016 but cancelled the tour as he suffered "the worst anxiety of my career".

In a statement at the time, he said: "I have been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances."
