Ariana Grande - Thank U, Next
We barely had time to get over 2018's Sweetener before its follow-up Thank U, Next arrived earlier this month. Full of attitude with a touch more fun, it featured an empowering title single, the unapologetic 7 Rings and the rather hilarious Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored. We love Ariana's self-loving new attitude to life.

First of all, we were hugely surprised to see a country album take the Album of the Year prize for the first time since Taylor Swift's Fearless in 2010; Kacey Musgraves won the coveted award as well as Best Country Album for Golden Hour, while songs Space Cowboy and Butterflies won Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance respectively.

"Unforeseeable health reasons" have forced the 'thank u, next' star to pull out of a Saturday night gig in Vegas.
Ariana Grande has been forced to cancel her headline gig in Las Vegas this weekend, due to what she described as “unforeseeable health reasons”.
The 25 year old pop star had been due to perform at The Chelsea inside the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on Saturday night, just a day before New Year’s Eve. However, the hotel confirmed the night before that Grande had had to pull out of the gig, and that its guests who had booked to attend will receive a refund from the point of purchase.
“Vegas, I'm currently working through some health issues and am beyond sorry I won’t be able to see you this weekend,” Grande told her fans on Instagram later. “I love u and so look forward to seeing u and making it up to u next year.”

Grande could make her big return to Manchester at the city's Pride event next August.
Ariana Grande’s much-vaunted return to Manchester following the devastating terrorist attack on her gig over a year ago might take the form of a headline set at the city’s annual Pride event in 2019.
Aside from the One Love Manchester concert, which Grande helped organise and starred in just a few weeks after the horrifying suicide bomb that claimed 22 lives at her gig at Manchester Arena back in May 2017, the 25 year old singer has not yet returned to play the city. She had been supposed to perform at the city’s Pride event in August this year, but the plans had to be cancelled because of security concerns.
She announced British tour dates for her latest album Sweetener a few months back, but Manchester was not on the itinerary, with Grande instead promising a special one-off event for her return to the city. However, she’s now said to be “so eager” to headline next year’s Manchester Pride event because the place holds a “very special place” in her heart.

New UK chart data for 2018 shows that female artists have nearly closed the gap regarding the number of weeks spent in the charts.
The gender gap is closing in the world of British pop music, according to new statistics, with the likes of Jess Glynne and Dua Lipa ensuring that women in pop are seeing their success begin to match that of their male counterparts.
Data analysis from the Press Association found that five of the ten most popular acts of 2018 were female or female-fronted, notching up a total of 310 weeks on the UK charts, in comparison to the 328 weeks achieved by male artists.
That’s a dramatic shift from compared to just a year ago, with the 2017 statistics showing that female artists spent just 226 weeks in the UK charts, with 386 weeks for men.

The two made up soon after the 2016 incident, and Braun is still her manager today.
The 37 year old pop impresario, whose clients famously include Justin Bieber and, on occasion, Kanye West, soon reunited with Grande despite the brief parting of ways, which apparently happened back in 2016.
“With Ariana, I could have said a lot of stuff, and in fact my team wanted me to, because they were so pi****. But I said, ‘We’re not gonna say a word, and this is gonna come back around,’” Braun said during a talk as part of Fast Company’s Innovation Festival on Tuesday (October 23rd).

Grande also announced she'll be taking a short break from social media in the aftermath of the break-up.
Ariana Grande has publicly broken her silence for the first time since announcing her split from Pete Davidson, taking the time to announce a short break from social media.
The 25 year old star took to Instagram to share some snaps from backstage at NBC’s tribute to Broadway musical ‘Wicked’, titled ‘A Very Wicked Halloween’, on Wednesday night (October 17th).
