Amy Poehler is up for a 'Parks And Recreation' revival
The ensemble cast always brought in big laughs, but the viewing figures just weren't enough for NBC to see it continue past a seventh season. Still, there's always been an opportunity for the network to change their mind, but since 'Parks And Rec' ended, its stars have really taken Hollywood by storm. Pratt for example, will be starring in another 'Jurassic World' movie this summer, whilst Ansari has his own Netflix original series. So would they make a comeback if asked? Poehler certainly thinks so.

The NRA had tweeted a GIF of her character Leslie Knope.
In the wake of the mass murder of 17 schoolchildren in Parkland, Florida earlier this month, the controversial National Rifle Association has been on the PR offensive - with emphasis very much on the ‘offensive’.
The organisation tweeted radio host Dana Loesch last night after a town hall meeting in which she had adopted a pro-gun stance. Doing so, it added a GIF of the character Leslie Knope from ‘Parks & Recreation’.
Naturally, this annoyed the comedy’s creator, Michael Schur, and actress Amy Poehler, who played Knope in the series, and they got in contact to voice their displeasure.

Poehler was in attendance at an event in which Brownstein was promoting her new book, when a couple asked if the writer, also an ordained minister, could marry them.
A book signing turned into the scene of an impromptu wedding for two fans of the reformed punk group Sleater-Kinney, as the band’s leader Carrie Brownstein and her friend Amy Poehler officiated a wedding.
Kendall Oshiro and her partner, Genevieve Hernandez, attended an event in Pasadena, California on Tuesday (November 3rd) at which Brownstein was promoting her new memoir, ‘Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl’. When the question-and-answer section of the evening began, Oshiro learned from a friend that the author was also an ordained minister, and quickly asked 41 year old Brownstein if she could marry her and her partner.

A productive week for Amy Poehler seems to have gotten even better, with reports emerging that her production company Paper Kite has concluded two more deals to sell comedy shows to American networks. This means that the comedienne has sold three shows in the last seven days alone.
According to Deadline, ABC has purchased a pilot episode for ‘Aunt Jill’, a comedy by Jordan Roter in which an aunt attempts to address her social life having dedicated her life to her career. NBC also acquired Nisha Ganatra’s ‘Pre-Madonna’, which is based on the writer’s own high school experiences in the Chicago area in the early ‘80s.
These two successes join Poehler’s own project ‘The Dumb Prince’, co-written with ‘The Mindy Project’ producer Charlie Grandy, which NBC snapped up at the end of last week.

Those bright sparks at Pixar have done it again, taking a fiercely original approach to animated filmmaking that connects with both adults and children. Intriguingly, this movie will be a very different movie depending on your age, because it explores the point where childish happiness gives way to more complex emotions. The basic idea may not be completely original, but the way director-cowriter Pete Docter (Up) approaches it is inventive, provoking constant laughter and even a few tears.
It's set inside the mind of 11-year-old Riley (voiced by Kaitlyn Dias), where the control room is run by Joy (Amy Poehler), who struggles to keep the darker emotions in check. Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust (Phyllis Smith, Bill Hader, Louis Black and Mindy Kaling) aren't easy for Joy to manage. And when Riley's parents (Kyle MacLachlan and Diane Lane) move the family from Minnesota to San Francisco, Riley's difficulty fitting into her new environment causes serious turmoil in her mind. Joy and Sadness find themselves lost in the recesses of Riley's memory, and must team up with Riley's forgotten imaginary friend Bing Bong (Richard Kind) to get back to headquarters, where Fear, Anger and Disgust are making a mess of everything.
As expected, the animation is simply gorgeous, combining bright colours and all kinds of textures to create both the real world and the expansive universe inside Riley's head. These things will provide both laughs and thrills, while grown-ups will also engage with an extra psychological layer of meaning, as Joy and Sadness travel through abstract thought to get to the imagination and ultimately to dreams, which are like a full-on movie studio that uses memories to create sleep-time blockbusters. There's also a brief but freaky visit to the subconscious. Through all of this Joy and Sadness discover that they need each other to function, which adds a surprisingly moving kick to everything that happens along the way.
