The first official announcement for Live At Leeds 2016 is here...
One of the biggest UK music events of the North is returning in Spring 2016, accompanied by another spectacular line-up. Live At Leeds have just announced the first seven acts for the citywide festival which will mark their landmark 10 year anniversary.
They previously won 'Best Metropolitan Festival' and they are certainly still proving worthy of that title if recent announcements are anything to go by. The first acts of Live At Leeds are now confirmed for the multi-venue extravaganza on April 30th 2016, and organisers also reveal their Leeds Digital Festival; more information on which is yet to be announced.

It looks like it's going to be an epic weekend with Big Guava 2014's quality line-up.
Arguably what could be Florida's most fun-packed 3-day event of the year, Big Guava Music Festival makes its debut today (May 2nd 2014) with an impressive line-up headlined by Outkast, Vampire Weekend and Foster The People.
There's a lot of things we like about Florida, and we reckon Big Guava's inaugural event will definitely be one of them. Set against the glorious city backdrop of Tampa, this festival is bound to be the highlight of your year as it arrives at the Florida State Fairgrounds and Mid-Florida Credit Union Amphitheatre. As well as 40 awesome bands on 4 different stages, you got your craft beers, your diverse food trucks and your epic fairground rides (which are free, by the way) that will keep you busy in between performances from a line-up that prides itself on its quality over quantity. Having said that, we still think you're going to be spoilt for choice with this lot.

Laughing in the face of the concept of the 'difficult' second album, Southampton's Band of Skulls seem to have rattled off Sweet Sour with ease as the album possesses the kind of cocky grandeur that we saw in Queens of the Stone Age when they first started flexing their muscles. They don't occupy quite the same arena as Homme's gang and lack the sucker punch of QotSA but what they lack in brutality, they make up for in bolshy melody. Benefitting from some pretty slick production (courtesy of Ian Davenport), Russell and Emma's harmonies are so smooth they may as well be hanging out the window of an old Corvette, at the bottom of the garden path, with a single red rose in their teeth.
