Ryan Adams (born November 5th 1974)
Ryan Adams is a singer songwriter from the US, and previous member of bands Whiskeytown and The Cardinals.

Musical career: In his career beginnings, Ryan Adams was part several bands including Blank Label, Ass, The Lazy Stars and The Patty Duke Syndrome. He formed Whiskeytown in 1994 which saw three album releases: 'Faithless Street', 'Strangers Almanac' and 'Pneumonia'. He then embarked on a solo career, releasing critically successful debut album 'Heartbreaker' in 2000; the album included the song 'In My Time of Need' which Joan Baez later covered. His breakthrough was second album 'Gold' the following year, though he rose to fame through the tragedy of the 911 terrorist attacks after releasing a video for his song 'New York New York' shortly before the bombings. In 2002, his label decided to release a mixtape compilation of various unreleased songs entitled 'Demolition'. He produced Jesse Malin's debut album with whom he formed the side-project The Finger and released two EPs. That year he and Willie Nelson covered Hank Williams's 'Move It On Over' for Gap, and he also appeared with Elton John on CMT Crossroads. In 2003, he released the album 'Rock n Roll' which featured Billie Joe Armstrong. 'Love Is Hell' soon followed in full in 2004, after first being released in two parts. It featured a cover of Oasis hit 'Wonderwall' which was praised by Noel Gallagher and received a Grammy nod. In 2004, he was hospitalised with a broken wrist after falling off stage during his Love Is Hell tour, with several dates subsequently cancelled. The following year, he joined The Cardinals and released the albums 'Cold Roses' and 'Jacksonville City Nights'. The latter featured Norah Jones duet 'Dear John'. He also released another solo album entitled '29' and performed at the Hurricane Katrina benefit show. Ryan Adams performed and recorded with the Grateful Dead's Phil Lesh after meeting in 2005. He produced Willie Nelson's 2006 album 'Songbird' and unveiled his ninth album the following year, 'Easy Tiger'. In 2008, The Cardinals released 'Cardinology', though Adams quit the band the following year blaming hearing loss and general unfulfilment with the music industry. He released the books 'Infinity Blues' and 'Hello Sunshine'. In 2009, he released music under his metal names Werewolph and Sleazy Handshake. He released his metal album 'Orion' through his own label PAX AM. 2010 saw the release of his fifth Cardinals album 'Cardinals III/IV' through PAX AM. The following year he released solo record 'Ashes & Fire'. He was nominated for a Brit award and a Grammy in 2012. In 2013, he released his '7 Minutes in Heaven' EP with new band Pornography. He also helped produce Fall Out Boy's 'PAX AM Days' EP. In 2014, he release his self-titled album.

Personal life: Ryan Adams grew up in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He wrote from a young age and learned the electric guitar at 14. He went to Jacksonville High School but left to pursue a career in music. In 2009, he married actress and singer Mandy Moore, having previously dated Parker Posey and Jessica Joffe. In 2003, he was slammed after an his angry voicemail for critic Jim DeRogatis was leaked, regarding a negative review of one of his shows. He admits that he has previously struggled with drug and alcohol abuse.

Ryan Adams has released a new song called 'Baby I Love You' to celebrate Valentine's Day (14.02.18).

The 43-year-old star - who previously made headlines when he covered the entirety of Taylor Swift's '1989' album in 2015 - has dropped the track almost a year after his last original album, 'Prisoner'.

Starting the catchy indie rock track, Ryan sings: "If I lie to you, will you still be mine? I want you to stay tell me when it's ok.

Ryan Adams Cancels April UK Dates On 'Prisoner' Tour

Ryan Adams fans in the UK will be downcast to learn that the singer has been forced to cancel his forthcoming two Spring dates for his 'Prisoner' tour due to unexpected circumstances. His subsequent US and Canada concerts will still go ahead as planned, as will his later Europe shows.

Never fear, his later UK dates in September are still set in stone, but for now the two April shows that were only recently announced will have to be rescheduled due to 'an unforeseen personnel change' outside of the 'Lucky Now' singer's control.

Ryan Adams has compared Taylor Swift to Shakespeare while describing the process of covering her 1989 album. Speaking to The Guardian, Adams opened up about his feelings towards Swift's music and revealed he’s actually been a fan of the singer for years.

Adams compared the process of working through Swift’s 1989 album to “being in Ghostbusters or something, and then all of a sudden I have to go do Shakespeare”. He went on to later defend Swift as one of the great modern songwriters adding, “Well, look, those songs are popular for a reason. She’s a popular artist for a reason.”

Trevor Noah's First 'Daily Show' Guests Announced

Trevor Noah’s guests for his first week presenting ‘The Daily Show’ have been announced, with just a few days to go before the Comedy Central talk show takes a great step into the unknown.

Noah, who was selected by Comedy Central’s president of programming Kent Alterman to be Jon Stewart’s replacement after he retired last month after presenting the show for 16 years, will be talking to comedian Kevin Hart on his first ever show on Monday (September 28th). 

As time goes on, the plan is clearly to keep things much the same as they were under Stewart, talking to a mixture of celebrities and more serious guests such as politicians and industry executives.
