Emmy Rossum Talks Dating Men Who Confuse Her With 'Shameless' Character

Emmy Rossum

Even though Emmy Rossum is a beautiful young actress dating can be quite a struggle, and the reason is because many of her potential admirers seem to think she will be exactly like the character she portrays in the Showtime dramedy 'Shameless.'

Emmy Rossum
Rossum says she isn't like her 'Shameless' character in real life

Rossum, who plays Fiona Gallagher, does not want anyone to think she is as "easy" as her character can be on the show, the 27 year-old star adamantly stated while opening up about dating life in a new interview for Cosmopolitan magazine's October issue.

Spot The Difference: Emmy Rossum Spoofs Gisele Bundchen's "Multitasking" Photo

Emmy Rossum Gisele Bundchen

Emmy Rossum can sympathise with Gisele Bundchen’s multi-tasking efforts. She even let the model know as much, by mimicking her photo from Tuesday, where Bundchen can be seen breastfeeding, while a whole brigade of stylists works on her hair, makeup, nails, etc. Yesterday, Rossum decided to spoof the picture and released a similar one of herself on the set of Shameless.

Emmy Rossum, August: Osage County Premiere
Rossum doubles as a singer/songwriter and the star of the Showtime dramedy, Shameless.

"What would I do without this beauty squad after the 15 hours flying and only 3 hours sleep #multitasking #gettinrready," Bündchen captioned her own photo. The Brazilian model has been balancing her glamorous career with motherhood since the birth of daughter Vivian Lake in 2012. Judging by her instagram feed, this professional beautiful person is doing a great job of maintaining her flawless image. Nevertheless, her job involves constant travel and no sleep, which sounds like a rough deal. She probably deserves some pampering at this point, but that doesn't make Rossum's spoof any less funny.

Very Good

While this package has all of the key marketing elements to reach the Twilight audience, the film itself is rather a lot more fun, made with some wit and intelligence, plus a cast that's happy to chomp on the scenery. Based on a four-novel series, this film actually has more in common with True Blood than Twilight, with its Deep South setting and the clash between religious fundamentalism and supernatural beings.

At the centre is Ethan (Ehrehreich), a 16-year-old who is bristling against the isolation of his small South Carolina town. His recently deceased mother instilled in him a love of books banned by the town's hyper-religious leaders, and the local librarian Amma (Davis) helps keep his interest alive. As a result, he's more open than the other teens when Lena (Englert) arrives at school. But she's shunned because her Uncle Macon (Irons) is the town's pariah, a landowner whom everyone thinks is a devil worshipper. Actually, the whole family are casters, people with special powers that are designated good or evil on their 16th birthday.

The plot stirs up some suspense as Lena's big day of reckoning approaches. She's terrified that she'll go over to the dark side like her man-eating cousin (Rossum) or, worse still, her spectral mother, who does her mischief by inhabiting the body of the town's most pious housewife Mrs Lincoln (Thompson). This of course gives Thompson two insane characters to play at the same time, and she has a ball with it. As does Irons with the shadowy, snaky Macon. And at the centre, Ehrenreich and Englert both show considerable promise, with their strikingly non-Hollywood good looks and a depth of character that makes the film more engaging than we expect.

Beautiful Creatures Trailer

Lena Duchannes is a Caster whose family has plenty of dark power between them, but rather than feeling empowered, Lena just wishes she can be mortal so she wouldn't have to hide and people wouldn't talk about her all the time. When she moves to the small and somewhat conservative town of Gatlin, South Carolina, she finds herself an outcast but is soon noticed by her school mate Ethan Wate who is enchanted by her and the excitement her arrival brings to this ordinary, unmoving town. However, their relationship is compromised by the fact that Lena only has a matter of days left before she is subjected to the Claiming; a process that will decide whether she will turn to the Light or the Dark side of magic. While her uncle does everything in her power to make sure she is claimed to the Light, the all-powerful Sarafine is convinced that she will have great magical supremacy which would better be served in the Dark.

'Beautiful Creatures' is the story of just how much love can conquer and, equally, the devastation it brings. It has been adapted to screen by Oscar nominated director and screenwriter Richard LaGravenese ('P.S. I Love You', 'The Mirror Has Two Faces') from the book of the same name by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. The fantasy romance will be released in time for Valentine's Day on February 13th 2013.

Hilary Swank Has Her Purse Stolen In Paris Suburb

Hilary Swank Emmy Rossum

Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank was caught up in a violent robbery when her purse was stolen from her whilst she was in a taxi in the Parisian suburb of Saint-Denis yesterday (Jan 18) morning.

According to a police source, the actress was sat in the back seat of her taxi that was stuck in gridlock traffic when thieves jumped the taxi whilst it remained stationary in the northern part of the city. Three thieves smashed the back window of the taxi and snatched Swank's designer purse from her hands before making off with the loot. The suburb of Saint-Denis is notorious for it's frequent traffic jams and over the years this type of'smash and grab' robberies has become increasingly common.

Swank became a household name after her double Oscar success in 1999, for Boys Don't Cry, and again in 2004 for Million Dollar Baby. Since her Oscar success she has also stared in such hits as PS, I Love You and the Amelia Earhart biopic, Amelia, and is currently working on the upcoming drama You're Not You, which centres on a terminally ill woman (Swank) and her young caregiver (Emmy Rossum).

Video - Emmy Rossum Attends The Opera In Floor Length Purple Dress - Jules Massenet's Manon Premiere Arrivals Part 1

The Metropolitan Opera's premiere of 'Jules Massenet's Manon' was held at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York's Lincoln Center. The Day After Tomorrow star Emmy Rossum wore a floor length purple gown and completed the look with a black choker. She told a reporter that she chose the dress because of its length and colour, not to mention the fact that it came with a choker.

Emma Roberts also attended the premiere, wearing a cute black jumpsuit, with a glittery red belt. Also attending the opera was Mad Men star January Jones and Kick Ass actress Chloe Moretz, who is set to star as the titular character in the upcoming remake of Carrie.

Video - Emmy Rossum Will Be Voting For Nancy Grace

Actress and singer songwriter Emmy Rossum (The Day After Tomorrow; The Phantom of the Opera; Dragonball: Evolution) arrives at her home in Beverly Hills. While she admits she hasn't been watching 'Dancing With The Stars' in recent years, she confides in the photographers that she will be watching it this year and proudly states that she will be voting for TV personality Nancy Grace, much to the shock of the photographers.

Emmy rose to fame in disaster movie The Day After Tomorrow in 2004 but it was her performance in musical The Phantom of the Opera, also released in the same year, that catapulted her to fame and earned her a Golden Globe nomination

The Phantom Of The Opera (2004) Review

Weak
Criticism toward Joel Schumacher's attempted enactment of Andrew Lloyd Webber's cherished stage musical The Phantom of the Opera likely will fall on deaf ears. If you love the source material (I don't), the chances are high you'll thoroughly enjoy the latest film to pay tribute, even though Schumacher is functionally talentless.

Schumacher and his financial backers certainly spare no expense, though the bulk of their budget apparently went to candles. Their Phantom (the not-so-hideously-disfigured Gerard Butler) hides beneath opulent and gaudy-yet-dimly-lit theatrical set pieces that turn the normally regal Opera Populaire into the west wing of the Moulin Rogue. The Phantom's water-logged lair resembles exactly what it is - a poorly constructed, artificial set dropped into the corner of a vast soundstage. Hire the man who put nipples on the Bat suit, and you're going to get what you pay for. The masquerade ball, which occurs late in the story, starts to explore methods of filling the artistic canvas, but by then, it's too little, too late.
