It’s the end of an era for E! News, as Guiliana Rancic has announced that she’s quitting her role as a day-to-day anchor in a month’s time.

The 40 year old Italian-American presenter will be stepping down on August 10th, after just over ten years in the job. However, she will remain a significant presence on the network, as she says her roles on ‘Fashion Police’ and ‘Live from the Red Carpet’ will be continuing as normal.

“For more than a decade, I was fortunate enough to play a role in the success of E! News and will miss my family at the show,” Rancic said in a statement. “At the same time, I am excited to not only continue as host of two major franchises on E! but also executive produce the aspirational new show ‘Rich in Faith’ for Oxygen as well as take my wine and clothing lines to the next level.”

Alongside Ryan Seacrest from 2006 to 2012, Rancic played a key role in bringing E! News its success as a globally respected news outlet. She continued: “This is such a thrilling time for me and I thank the gang at E! for understanding my desire to embark on this next chapter in my life.”

Rancic stirred up controversy at this year’s Oscars ceremony when she made an offensive remark about Zendaya Coleman’s hair. The fallout from this incident, coupled with instability caused by the death of one of the show’s most popular panellists Joan Rivers last year, caused both Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin (Rivers’ replacement) to walk out on ‘Fashion Police’.

Though Rancic remains with the red carpet fashion show, E! has since mothballed it in lieu of a format overhaul. Melissa Rivers, the daughter of the late Joan, was revealed as one of the two replacements that are needed to bring ‘Fashion Police’ back to its original state of four presenters. The other has not yet been announced, though RuPaul has been connected with the vacancy for more than a month.
