Comedian Katt Williams handed an ill fan $1,000 (£666) after discovering she was in desperate need of a kidney transplant.

The funnyman was performing a stand-up routine in Boston, Massachusetts, on Sunday (18Aug13) when he spotted a wheelchair-bound woman crying in the audience.

When he quizzed her why she was weeping, the woman explained the gig was the first time she had laughed since doctors told her she needed a transplant.

According to Tmz.com, Williams was so moved by her story, he left the stage before returning with a handful of dollar bills and a note reading, "God never leaves", which he handed to the astounded woman.
