Robin Thicke's dad just made things really awkward... Alan Thicke confessed he listened to his son's music whilst having sex and Robin Thicke is, understandably, not happy about it.
Robin Thicke wants his dad to return all his music after Alan Thicke admits to listening to Robin's 'Sex Therapy' in the bedroom.
Is this the first signs of the post-'Blurred Lines' legal ruling coming into effect?
The biggest selling single of the year so far has seen a significant change to its writing credits. Mark Ronson’s record-breaking ‘Uptown Funk!’ now includes the writers of The Gap Band’s 1979 hit ‘Oops Up Side Your Head’.
It’s not clear as to how this alteration came about – there have been no court cases or lawsuits in the offing – but five extra names are now included on Ronson’s hit, according to Music Week. They are The Gap Band’s three members Ronnie Wilson, Charles Wilson and Robert Wilson as well as producers Lonnie Simmons and Rudolph Taylor.

The pair have been estranged for over a year, and their divorce will be officially finished next month.
In legal documents obtained by the entertainment website, the ex-couple were formally granted their divorce on March 17th, a full five months after Patton had filed and over a year since they had started living apart in February 2014.
Back then, they said to People “We will always love each other and be best friends. However, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.” The pair were former teenage sweethearts, having met at school. Famously, Thicke dedicated his most recent album, Paula, to her in an attempt to win her back, but its sales were hugely lower than expected.

Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams have lost their case against Marvin Gaye's family.
A jury has ruled that Pharrell Williams and Robin Thicke breached copyright when writing their 2013 monster hit Blurred Lines. Jurors found that that one of the best-selling singles of all time copied segments of Marvin Gaye's 1977 hit Got To Give It Up.

The family of the late soul singer has been awarded $7.3 million in damages though Thicke and Williams are believed to be appealing the decision, calling it a "horrible precedent".

The 'Happy' star spoke to GQ Style magazine about his recent success.
With pretty much the whole world at his feet having had the biggest selling single of the last few years, you could perhaps excuse Pharrell Williams for being immodest. But in a new interview he was very humble when comparing himself to one of his musical idols Jay-Z.
Speaking with Germany’s GQ Style magazine, the 41 year old said he would “sound braggy” if he were to rap like Jay-Z and use the same lyrics that he does. He believes that all artists should find their own style and that imitating someone else is unlikely to pay off.

Pharrell Williams said that he recognised the similarities between songs but did not copy Marvin Gaye's work.
Pharrell Williams says he did not have Marvin Gaye's song Got To Give It Up in mind when writing his pop mega-hit Blurred Lines though was "channelling...that late 70s feeling." Williams, Robin Thicke and rapper T.I are being sued by Gaye's family over similarities between the 1977 song and the 2013 pop hit.
Pharrell Williams testified in court, saying that although he recognised the likeness between songs, he did not copy Marvin Gaye
In court, Pharrell conceded that he recognised a likeness between his and Gaye's songs though that ultimately it was an entirely original composition.

Robin Thicke treated the court to a lovely selection of hits.

Gaye's children claim their are huge similarities between 'Blurred Lines' and 'Got To Give It Up,' and are accusing Thicke of copyright infringement on 'After the Dance' to create his song, 'Love After War'.
The origins of Robin Thicke and Parrell Williams' hit track 'Blurred Lines' are still not yet solved and a trial is the only way to prove once and for all if there are elements of the song that were copied from Marvin Gaye's music, a judge has ruled.
Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' is heading to a courtroom
In October 2013, Marvin Gaye's children filed a lawsuit, claiming the two artists stole the summer hit from Gaye's 'Got To Give It Up,' as well as committing copyright infringement on Gaye's 'After the Dance' to create Thicke's song, 'Love After War'.
The 37 year-old singer's public campaign to reconcile with his wife did not work!
Robin Thicke's lengthy campaign to win back his estranged wife Paula Patton, who he's been married to for eight years, has failed as the actress finally filed for divorce after the pair announced their separation back in February.
Patton and Thicke's eight-year marriage is finally over
Patton, 38, who shares a 4-year-old son, Julian, with Thicke, cited "irreconcilable differences" in divorce papers filed in Los Angeles last week, People magazine reports, and is requesting joint custody.

The couple separated back in February amid allegations of Thicke's infidelity, but the news sets everything in stone.
In the latest news from what’s been a very bad 2014 for Robin Thicke, it’s been announced that his estranged wife Paula Patton has filed for divorce. The Los Angeles Superior Court confirmed the application to Us Weekly.
Paula Patton has formally applied for divorce from Robin Thicke after months of separation
Patton and Thicke were married for eight years, having been high school sweethearts. The announcement puts a full stop after what was pretty much a fait accompli. Back in February this year the news broke that the couple had split up, with a source close to Thicke stating that “their marriage was unravelling for a long time.”

This shocking confession is revealed in a court deposition from Marvin Gaye's children's ongoing lawsuit against Thicke's song, 'Blurred Lines.'
Last October (2013), Marvin Gaye's children filed a lawsuit against Robin Thicke for allegedly stealing 'Blurred Lines' from their father's 'Got To Give It Up' as well as committing copyright infringement on his 'After the Dance' to create Thicke's song, 'Love After War'.
Thicke revealed he suffered from substance abuse issues last year
The court deposition for this case, obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, reveal that not just the supposed origins of 'Blurred Lines' are controversial, but the way in which Thicke took credit for the song is inaccurate.
It might sound crazy what I'm about to say...but Weird Al has just scored his first number one on the Billboard 200 with his new album "Mandatory Fun."
The album was released only one week ago and sold 103,000 copies to secure the top spot. 'Mandatory Fun' is Weird Al Yankovic's fourteenth studio album, so he will surely be happy his efforts have finally paid off. It is also the first comedy album to reach the top spot since Allan Sherman's 1963 release 'My Son, The Nut'. Previously the closest Al had come was a Number 2 with 1996 single 'Amish Paradise'.

Plus, a version of "Blurred Lines" we can actually get behind.
Parodies of Pharrell’s Happy may be well past their sell-by date, but good things take time, as Weird Al Yankovic will probably tell you. That’s the one he released this week. Tacky, a take on Pharrell’s smash hit from the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack has the same innocuous lyrics and bright colours that have been luring the easily amused to Weird Al’s parodies for decades.
The curls aren't going away, in case you were wondering.
And that’s not all! Apparently the 52-year-old comedian has six more spoofs in the pipeline. According to the Reddit AMA Yankovic did on Tuesday, he will be releasing eight videos in eight days, ahead of his new album, Mandatory Fun. The second one, which was released today, is of that other big Pharrell hit, which nobody really wants to acknowledge these days – Blurred Lines. Except in Al’s case, it’s Word Crimes,, in which he lament the serious issue of bad grammar, spelling and punctuation online. Well, at least it’s a better message than the original, though admittedly Robin Thicke didn’t set the bar too high.
Ding ding! The gloves were off in the land of showbiz this week as squabbles broke out, feathers were ruffled and tensions arose.
Seth Rogen Vs. North Korea: Seth Rogen should be feeling a little nervous right now. The actor and funnyman, who is preparing for the fall release of new movie The Interview, has been threatened after North Korea issued an official complaint to the UN. The shady country raised its hackles over the plot of Rogen's new movie, which depicts a plot to kill dictator Kim Jong-Un. This is unbelievable. If you want to thumb your nose at the Supreme Leader, go giggle at the poster - it's hilarious.
George Clooney Vs. The Daily Mail: George Clooney should only have seating arrangements and wedding cake tasting on his mind at the moment but the Gravity actor has had to engage in battle with The Daily Mail over comments the tabloid made alleging that the mother of Clooney's fiancée, Amal Alamuddin, was not happy with her daughters upcoming nuptials on religious grounds - a claim the actor has called a "lie." Clooney got angry, the Mail apologised, Clooney got angrier.
Robin Thicke's new album, Paula, is set to debut with the worst first-week sales numbers of his career.
What is it called when something surpasses a level of awkwardness where just simply “awkward” becomes an understatement? Saying “that’s so Robin Thicke” may not have a great ring to it, but it’s starting to fit the qualifications pretty perfectly. When Thicke and longtime partner Paula Patton separated this past February, Thicke seemed hellbent on getting back together with her. He dedicated songs to her in concerts, and even debuted his new single, aptly titled ‘Get Her Back,’ live at the Billboard Music Awards back in early May. However, things started getting weird when it was announced that his new album would be titled Paula after his estranged wife. Now that it’s finally released, it’s turning out to be a huge flop commercially, and that’s just adding more sting to the wound.
Robin Thicke’s new album will debut with one of the worst sales weeks of his career
Paula, released on July 1, comes less than a year since Thicke’s last record, Blurred Lines. The album featuring the gigantic single of the same name has gone on to sell nearly 700,000 copies in the United States, but Paula is turning out to be the complete opposite. Billboard reports that the album is expected to sell between 20,000-25,000 copies in its first week. If this holds true, it will mark the lowest debut for Thicke since the release of his second album, The Evolution of Robin Thicke, in 2007 where it came in with 20,000 sold. To compare with Blurred Lines: it sold 177,000 copies in the first week and debuted at #1 in July 2013. However, despite the low sales numbers for Paula, it may still be good enough to notch Thicke a spot in the top ten, which is pretty sad if you think about it – but it’s still not as sad as the Paula situation in general.

He thought he knew we wanted it, but only 530 people have bought Robin’s latest album.
Taking your heartache and pain over a failed relationship and trying to turn it into music is nothing new. But when Robin Thicke released Paula he took things to a whole new level. Writing an entire album about your former partner and then going so far as to name the album after her, has turned out not to be the massive romantic gesture Robin Thicke intended it to be. Instead most have found it all pretty creepy, so creepy that only 530 copies of the album have been sold so far in the UK. So does the album’s failure, plus all of Robin’s other actions over the past 12 months mean that Robin Thicke really is the most pathetic man in pop?
Robin's new album Paula has not been the success he was hoping for
Last March Robin Thicke probably couldn't believe how fast his life had changed. Suddenly he’d gone from being a r’n’b singer with limited success, to an international pop sensation, who’d just released the ‘song of the summer.’ Prior to ‘Blurred Lines’s' summer domination, Thicke’s highest charting single had been 2007’s ‘Lost Without U’, which peaked at number 14 on the Billboard charts. Now he was number 1 worldwide, with one of the best selling singles of all time.
Robin Thicke's latest album 'Paula', created in the hopes of winning his wife actress Paula Patton back, has sold only 530 copies in the UK during its opening week.
Robin Thicke can no longer cruise along in the slipstream of his previously highly successful single 'Blurred Lines'. The 37-year-old's latest album, entitled Paula after his estranged wife, has completely flopped during its first week selling only 530 albums in the UK. Paula came in at No. 200 in the UK chart and it's difficult not to revel in Thicke's failure, as the Guardian reports.

When discussing his recent public outcries to his estranged wife, the 37 year-old singer admits, "I'm just kinda flying by the seat of my pants on this one."
Robin Thicke has tarnished his reputation in recent months, which is due to his public mission to win back Paula Patton.

Apparently Thicke has taken a page out of "Frozen's" book and let it go.
Robin Thicke has had it rough lately – well, apart from the money, fame and fans, that is. Despite all that, though, headlines would have us believe that Thicke’s marriage is in shambles. Enter Paula, Thicke’s new album, dedicated solely to apologizing to estranged wife Paula Patton for… well, you know.
Thicke admits the breakup was on him, but knows to give Patton her space.
“The album is what happens when you lose the love of your life and you try to figure out in your head like, ‘How am I gonna move on?’” Thicke told Hot 97’s “Ebro in the Morning” show. “Because we weren’t together anymore, I had so much that I still wanted to apologize for and take responsibility for and that’s what the album is about.”
