Ryan Phillippe has moved to vigorously deny the recent rumours that he’s dating pop megastar Katy Perry, tweeting sternly that he “barely knows” the singer and telling reporters to stop flying helicopters over his house.

A few weeks ago, a number of tabloid reports suggested that the 42 year old actor had been seen behaving very affectionately with Perry at Elton John’s birthday party.

However, the press intrusion seems to have gotten to Phillippe, with the Canadian-born actor taking to Twitter to tell all the gossip-mongers to drop it already.

Actor Ryan Phillippe decided to put a ring on it over the holidays, proposing to girlfriend of four years Paulina Slagter, E! News has confirmed. The 41-year-old actor and the 25-year-old Stanford Law student are said to have got engaged on Christmas day, with Ryan popping the question.

An insider told E! News, "They arrived in Miami on Sunday and had lunch at Seaspice, where they ate facing the river at the owner's table. She was really cute and humble about the way she showed off the ring.”

The stars of the 1999 hit Cruel Intentions reunited for a special comedy musical version of the film. Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair, who played wealthy New York teenagers in a fatal spiral of seduction and betrayal, shared pictures from when they went to see Cruel Intentions: The Completely Unauthorised Musical on Thursday (28th May).

Reese Witherspoon is a mother for the third time, as she and husband Jim Toth welcomed baby boy Tennessee James into the world, US Weekly confirmed today.

Tennessee James is the pair’s first child, with the actress being mother to daughter Ava, 12, and son Deacon, 8, with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. Having divorced each other in 2006 following seven years of marriage, she and Toth, a CAA agent, tied the knot in March 2011 at the actress' $10 million ranch in Ojai, California after over a year together.

Back in March, a source close to the pair admitted they she was a little apprehensive about having another child, however Toth’s ease at getting along with her two children all but made up her mind. The source then revealed that Reese had become taken with the idea of settling down with Toth and wanted to start a family with him.

Reese Witherspoon has named her new baby boy Tennessee James, reports The Huffington Post. He was born yesterday (September 27th).

The 36-year-old's third child is guaranteed a shot at acting with a name like that. Witherspoon already has two little ones from her previous marriage with Ryan Phillippe; Ava, 12, and Deacon, 8. Linda Rosenkrantz, co-founder of Nameberry.com, has some explanations behind naming techniques employed by parents. "It's a trend that had its roots starting in the late 1980s," she said," with several celebs picking names from the American West, like Austin, Dallas and Dakota, including Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, whose now grown daughter Dakota is the star of a new sitcom. Celebrities seem to be obsessed with choosing never-heard-before names for their offspring, and are looking far and wide for names that fit the bill: "The current trend seems to be really exotic-sounding spots, like Morocco, Egypt and Asia, and states rather than countries or cities -- Alabama, Arizona, Indiana and yes, Tennessee."
