We're so looking forward to this disturbing modern remake.
An exciting moment in horror film history is set to arrive this Fall, as Amazon Studios presents a reimagining of the iconic 1977 Italian movie 'Suspiria'. The trailer dropped last month, along with an original song by composer Thom Yorke, and there are so many reasons why we can't wait for this flick.
The cast of Suspiria
If you've seen the original, you can probably tell by the trailer that this new film will not be a literal remake, but it's certainly a re-envisioning of the sinister tale. It's been written by David Kajganich, who has also been working on a screenplay for a new incarnation of the Stephen King story 'Pet Sematary', out next year.

Johnson admitted that filming the three 'Fifty Shades' films left her "f***ed up".
Fifty Shades star Dakota Johnson has spoken about the experience of being involved with the trilogy for so long, revealing that it left her so “f***ed up” that she had to seek therapy.
The 28 year old star featured in all three of the Fifty Shades films, from 2016 to 2018, as literature student Anastasia Steele, who falls into a turbulent romance with BDSM-fixated Christian Grey (played by Jamie Dornan). However, once Johnson had finally done with filming the third instalment, Fifty Shades Freed, which appeared in cinemas back in February this year, she said that the experience had an impact when it came to her next project, the re-make of horror classic Suspiria.
“No lie, [it] fucked me up so much that I had to go to therapy,” Johnson told Elle magazine this week.

They say that marriage can sometimes destroy a couple's sexual chemistry - but that is most certainly not the case for Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson), even if they have mutually decided to take a more vanilla approach to their bedroom antics. On the other hand, it doesn't mean that everything is plain sailing for their relationship either. Christian is still as possessive as always, as much as he loves his new wife, hating her not taking his surname at work following their nuptials and feeling angry about her sneaking out to see her friends. He tries to keep her happy by throwing his billions around, but when their relationship plans go awry there's massive discord between them.
Meanwhile, Ana's father has a serious car accident, and she's being hunted down by her vengeful former boss Jack Hyde (Eric Johnson) who is extremely bitter about being fired from Seattle Independent Publishing and will do anything to take down Grey's empire. Plus, there's all manner of people in between causing strife, including Elena Lincoln (Kim Basinger); a former friend of his mother's who seduced him at a young age and introduced him into the world of BDSM; who he continues to have in his life.
'Fifty Shades Freed' is the final movie in this intense erotic thriller trilogy, following 'Fifty Shades of Grey' and 'Fifty Shades Darker', based on the book series by E. L. James released between 2011 and 2012. Director James Foley ('House of Cards', 'At Close Range') from the previous movie is at the helm once again with Niall Leonard ('Wire in the Blood', 'Monarch of the Glen') having returned to write the screenplay.

The pair teamed together for another round of S&M romance in 'Fifty Shades Darker'.
When you go into a film series like that of 'Fifty Shades Darker', you have to expect that there's going to be a lot of sex scenes - and not just as a sideline. They are not a great many actors' favourite thing to shoot, but for Jamie Dornan, his connection with his co-star got him through it time and time again.

With bright lights shining, the careful scrutiny of the director and cinematographer, and beefy sound guys eating sandwiches in the background, you can understand why intimate scenes are never the most fun bits to shoot of a movie - especially if you happen to be in a relationship. However, 'Fifty Shades Darker' is branded as an erotic thriller, so there was no room for awkwardness between Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson who played Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the film.

It's been two years since the publishing phenomenon that was EL James' Fifty Shades of Grey hit the big screen.
And now the sequel, Fifty Shades Darker, is coming just in time for Valentine's Day. The distributor isn't screening the film for the press, so critics and audiences will watch it together. Meanwhile, there have been a variety of colourful clashes to whet our appetites. This week, a coalition of feminists, women's shelters and anti-pornography groups in the U.S., Canada and Australia launched a boycott, claiming that the new film glamorises violence and oppression against women.

And on the other side, the film's producer Dana Brunetti took a jab at the Producers Guild for initially refusing to allow him to use his credentials in the movie's credits, which he blamed on elitism due to the sexual theme.

Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino (I Am Love) reteams with Tilda Swinton for this fresh, tricky drama about four people whose lives are inextricably intertwined. A remake of the 1969 French classic La Piscine, it's a twisted story packed with insinuation: fast, funny and surprising. The actors infuse each scene with a spark of lusty intrigue, while Guadagnino makes everything look gorgeous.
It's set on an isolated island off the coast of Italy, where rock goddess Marianne (Swinton) has gone to recover from vocal chord surgery, so she can only speak in a whisper. She's accompanied by her long-time younger boyfriend Paul (Matthias Schoenaerts), and as they relax naked together in the sunshine their idyll is invaded by Marianne's hyperactive ex and Paul's old friend Harry (Ralph Fiennes), who proceeds to strip off and cavort around the pool, as if he was invited. He brings along his moody daughter Penelope (Dakota Johnson), who immediately begins to flirt with Paul. It's clear that Harry wants Marianne back after all these years, so there's some real tension quietly gurgling up between these four very different people.
Each of the actors gives a remarkably open-handed performance. Swinton and Schoenaerts are enjoyably evasive, firm in their feelings for each other and united against this onslaught. Johnson is terrific as the surly outsider who conceals her agenda to everyone except the movie audience. By contrast, Fiennes is hysterically talkative, never sitting still as he pushes everyone's buttons with his strong opinions and riotous actions. It's the film's flashiest performance, and it's utterly magnetic. And all of the actors are wonderful at suggesting things about their characters' inner motivations that perhaps they don't want to admit to themselves. Yes, this is a story about the deepest elements of being human, animal instincts that can cause problems in the modern world if we forget that they're part of what makes us alive.

She's thrilled at seeing her old friend again and invites him and his daughter to stay with them, to the great displeasure and suspicion of Paul. Marianne and Harry's close relationship incites a bubbling pit of jealousy within Paul, especially when it becomes clear that Harry wants to replace him in Marianne's life.
