It so happens that filmmaker Terrence Malick shot his latest movie 'Song To Song' at the latter in 2012, and they are bringing it back to Austin with a screening at the 24th edition of SXSW today (March 10th 2017).

Gosling plays an aspiring songwriter named BV in a tale about love and ambition, and the dangers the come from the blending of the two. He's in a relationship with another wannabe songwriter named Faye (Rooney Mara), and they ended caught between two love triangles also featuring major music mogul Cook (Michael Fassbender) and a pretty waitress (Natalie Portman) who Cook has taken an interest in. As BV does everything he can to achieve the success of his dreams, his life and those of the people around him are thrown into disarray by betrayal, dishonesty and infatutation as each of them is lured into the trap of temptation.

'La La Land' broke records this year by winning a total of seven Golden Globes out of seven nominations, which is the most a movie has ever won. It's well deserved too, being one of the most impressive films of 2016 and an extremely relevent one for stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield were the talk of the Golden Globes on Sunday night, after they shared a kiss as Ryan Gosling was named Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical.

Gosling beat Reynolds to the award and the Deadpool star consoled himself by smooching Garfield, who also left the awards empty handed after losing out on Best Performance in a Motion Picture Drama to Casey Affleck.

The 74th Golden Globe Awards saw a very clear frontrunner reigning amongst the winners as 'La La Land' manages to take home no less than seven prizes. Ryan Gosling has spoken about his experience spending three months learning the piano in preparation for his new movie, La La Land.

The movie has already been released in the States, where it’s being tipped for a good showing at the upcoming Oscars, but it comes out in the United Kingdom on January 17th. Gosling plays an L.A.-based jazz musician Sebastian, who struggles to get by until he meets aspiring actress Mia, played by Emma Stone, and their lives begin to turn around.

However, the 36 year old Canadian actor’s part involved him learning how to tinkle the ivories for real, and it was a challenge that Gosling got stuck into.

While Gosling has some comedy experience (Crazy Stupid Love, The Big Short), Crowe isn't known for his levity. But he saw more than humour in the project. "I just really liked the density of this script," Crowe says. "I wouldn't have described it necessarily as a comedy because it's full of social commentary and other things that you don't necessarily find in just a comedy."

He laughs when asked about beefing up for the role. "What I decided to do was just to live a completely sedentary life," he says. "What am I going to do, compete with Ryan? So I just decided to go the other way."
