Because children love music too.
Everyone loves music, and for children it's an especially important medium. It shapes their childhoods, teaches them life lessons and educates them. That's why some of the music industry's biggest icons have jumped into the kids' genre to offer their own input - the latest being good old Dolly.
Dolly Parton - I Believe In You
1. Dolly Parton - She might be a household name, but this year marks the first time Dolly has ever released a children's album. 'I Believe in You' dropped in September on Dolly Records and RCA Nashville, and featured songs aiming to teach kids to respect others and nurture their own self-esteem. All proceeds from the sale of the album went to her Imagination Library charity fund.
Former choir girl Katherine Jenkins has revealed her karaoke song of choice is 'Empire State of Mind' by Jay Z and Alicia Keys because she loves to shock people with the rap part
Katherine Jenkins loves to rap 'Empire State of Mind' when she does karaoke.
The Welsh soprano - who was a choir girl when she was younger - has admitted she likes to shock friends with her song choice when she enjoys a singalong session.
Speaking to NME magazine about her favourite karaoke track, she said: ''It's not an obvious choice for me, but I really like to do the Jay-Z part because nobody ever guesses it, so it's my trick to shock people!''

She donated the money years after her niece was treated there.
It's no secret that Dolly Parton is one of the most charitable superstars out there, and she's proved it further recently by donating no less than $1 million to the Nashville hospital where her now grown-up niece received medical treatment as a child more than two decades ago.

But now they will perform as a pair for the last time in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena in just three months, in a country music event that will also feature Little Big Town, Flaming Lips, Idina Menzel, Elle King, Jamey Johnson and Alison Krauss.

Dolly Parton is an international treasure - and a rare breed, at that. She is a massive star with a down-to-earth side that people around the globe have warmed to. Dolly's latest album 'Blue Smoke' sees the country music star doing what she does best. For those of you that never really understood country music, people like Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers were the ones that made the genre fun and didn't take it too seriously. Or maybe they did take it seriously, but just made fun and infectious along the way.
'Blue Smoke' is Dolly's 42nd (that's correct; forty second!) studio album and shows that she hasn't lost her touch with a mix of her greatest hits, covers and some new material. You get two CD's which equates to 32 songs of Dolly Parton, one disc of new songs and a separate 'Best Of' CD. The new material covers 12 tracks, while the second is 20 of her greatest hits. The most intriguing cover on this album has to be Bon Jovi's 'Lay Your Hands On Me' something that really shouldn't work but somehow it does, proving that she can find country in every song.
'Blue Smoke' also features a rendition of Bob Dylan's 'Don't Think Twice' which, even alongside her proven and most loved hits, sounds as though it was written for her. Later in the album is her version of 'In The Ghetto' which, for some reason, feels like she is the only woman who has the right vocal structure to pull it off. Trust us - if you hear it, you'll understand.

There have been miming accusations levelled at Dolly Parton’s crowd-pleasing Glastonbury set, we look at the evidence.
It’s nothing new for a universally acclaimed artist to mime in front of huge crowds. Eminem mimed his way through his 2013 Reading Festival headline appearance and still received a mostly positive reaction from a boisterous crowd. But for most live music enthusiasts, an artist miming in a live setting is nothing short of a heinous crime, an unforgivable cardinal sin that betrays the entire point and of live performance and leaves the artist devoid of integrity. Perhaps that best explains the furore that greeted Dolly Parton’s Glastonbury set as many people asked the question- “was Dolly miming?”
'Mimegate' sparked a huge debate over whether the singer was actually singing during her set.

Dolly's Glasto set has been mired in a "mimegate" controversy.
Dolly Parton has been hit with accusations that she mimed songs during her Glastonbury Festival performance last weekend. The 68 year-old country and western star topped off her recent UK tour to promote her new album, Blue Smoke, with a long-awaited appearance on the Pyramid Stage at the Somerset site.
However, her performance has drawn criticism from many who believe that the singer mouthed the words to a pre-recorded track onstage instead of singing live. In the face of the scrutiny, Parton's spokesman has responded with an outright denial: "No, she sings live," he told the Sunday Mirror. "Some people don't know an amazing singer when they hear one."
It was Kay Burley of Sky News who first decided to air her views regarding Dolly's perceived miming. "Oh, Dolly is miming. How disappointing," she tweeted, ahead of a string of similar sentiments from users of the social site. However, TV host Stephen Fry jumped to Parton's defence, blaming television-related delays for making it look like Dolly's sound wasn't synched.

The 68 year-old singer is rushing to her goddaughter's defence after critics constantly slam her for performing in a provocative manner, while wearing raunchy outfits.
Dolly Parton has decided to take aim on critics who so often slam Miley Cyrus for her wild child behaviour.
The country singer, who is the godmother of the 21 year-old, believes Cyrus is receiving an unfair amount of abuse for performing in racy outfits, and behaving crudely.
Parton can also relate to the former Disney Star, as she was also victimized for similar things in her younger days.
The festival's new license could see staff passes rise, which is exciting news isn't it?

Dolly Parton could be bringing her country tunes to Glastonbury.

Dolly Parton looks to have time to hit Glastonbury Festival next year amidst her UK and European tour.
Is legendary country star Dolly Parton in line for Glastonbury 2014? A suspicious gap in her UK June touring schedule suggests it could be a possibility.
The 'Jolene' singer would make a wonderful addition to next year's Glastonbury Festival line-up and, although nothing has yet been confirmed, it looks like there's a major gap to fill on her 2014 UK summer tour. The festival is set for June 25th - 29th 2014 with bands playing, as per usual, on the last three days. Although Dolly will be hitting London's O2 Arena on Friday 27th, she has the following weekend free which would certainly open up a Glastonbury opportunity. Exciting stuff! Plus, her fellow country star and 'Islands In The Stream' collaborator Kenny Rogers hit up the Pyramid Stage at this year's event and, after a show like that, there's definitely a fresh demand for country legends.
We are hoping, of course, that Dolly doesn't wind up in any more accidents while hitting her UK tour next year, following yesterday's 'fender bender' which took place in Nashville. She revealed in a statement yesterday (October 21st 2013): 'I was in a fender bender this morning, here in Nashville. But I am all good. Just a little tired and sore, resting at home.'
