Biography

Dolph Lundgren (born Hans Lundgren; 3.11.1957) Dolph Lundgren is a Swedish actor, known for his work in films like The Expendables and Rocky 4. He is also a martial artist and has spent time working as a director on his own productions.

Net Worth: In 2013, Celebrity Net Worth reported that Dolph Lundgren had a net worth of 15 million USD.

Childhood: Dolph Lundgren was born Hans Lundgren to Sigrid Birgitta - a language teacher - and Karl John Hugo Lundgren - an engineer and economist for the Swedish Government - in Stockholm, Sweden. Due to an abusive upbringing from his father, Lundgren was inspired to vent his frustration through high-contact sports like boxing and karate. He also worked hard through high school, leaving with straight As. He went on to earn a degree in Chemistry from Washington State University, before serving a compulsory two years in the Swedish army. After this, he studied at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm and graduated with a degree in chemical engineering. By 1978, he achieved a black belt in karate. Lundgren completed a master's degree in chemical engineering at The University of Sydney with the highest marks of any member of his class. Lundgren earned a Fullbright scholarship to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, however he was spotted working as a bouncer by singer Grace Jones and was subsequently hired to be her bodyguard. The two fell in love during this period.

Career: When Grace Jones received the role of May Day in the James Bond film A View to a Kill, she persuaded Dolph Lundgren to try for a part in the film. He ended up briefly playing a KGB agent in the film. From here, Lundgren decided that he preferred acting to chemical engineering, and pursued the role of Ivan Drago in Rocky IV (1985). He was turned down, due to his height, but later got the part anyway, going on to star alongside Sylvester Stallone. In 1987, Lundgren played the lead role in Masters of the Universe, although the film was panned by audiences and critics alike. In 1992, Lundgren starred alongside Jean-Claude Van Damme in Roland Emmerick's Universal Soldiers. Despite its success at the box office, critics like Roger Ebert responded negatively to it. In 2004, Lundgren made his directorial debut with The Defender, which he also starred in. This began a slew of action movies which Lundgren acted in and directed, all of which have earned moderate success. In 2010, Lundgren reunited with Stallone in The Expendables, a film based on the high-octane action movies Lundgren has inhabited for the majority of his career. Lundgren returned in 2012 and 2014 to reprise his role as Gunner Jensen in the series.

Personal life: In the 1980s, Lundgren dated singer and Bond Girl, Grace Jones, before later dating Paula Barbieri. He married Anette Qviberg in 1994 and the couple have two children. In 2011, they divorced from each other.

Hail, Caesar! Trailer

Eddie Mannix is a fixer who works in Hollywood where he tames celebrities and keeps theirs, and movie studios', secrets out of the press - no matter how big the story. It's not the easiest job in the world, and it's certainly not always the most morally fulfilling, but it's about to get a whole lot harder when one studio, Capitol Pictures, presents him with a major problem the likes of which could be career destroying. They're working on a huge production epic entitled 'Hail, Caesar!' starring Hollywood sensation Baird Whitlock, but things go particularly awry when he is kidnapped and held for ransom by a mysterious group known only as The Future. They want $100,000, and after 24 hours, the studio aren't looking any more hopeful. Mannix enlists a feisty and beautiful female star to procure the money, while Whitlook finds himself in a most unusual situation.

The Expendables 3 Review

Good

Striking a tone somewhere between the po-faced original and the silly Part 2, this rampaging action nonsense is badly overcrowded and chaotic, but there's plenty of comedy and whizzy stuntwork to keep the audience entertained. It of course helps a lot that the film is packed to the rafters with iconic actors and lively newcomers. And their sassy dialogue helps make up for the idiotic plot.

It opens with a prison break, as Barney (Sylvester Stallone) and his team (Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture and Terry Crews) rescue their old cohort Doc (Wesley Snipes) then head off on a mysterious mission that turns out to involve their presumed-dead nemesis Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who is targeting Barney's team. So Barney and his pal Bonaparte (Kelsey Grammer) set about finding four new commandoes (Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell and Victor Ortiz) to take on Stonebanks, but of course nothing goes as plan. For the final face-off they're joined by the old team, CIA boss Drummer (Harrison Ford), former colleagues Trench and Yin (Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jet Li), and chatty newcomer Galgo (Antonio Banderas).

The ever-increasing cast means that some characters can't help but be pushed into the shadows (Crews and Li are barely in this film), while others hover around the edges of scenes injecting moments of sarcastic wit. Each of the characters gets his or her moment of eye-popping action, as the film lurches from set-piece to set-piece in a whirl of bombs, bullets and blades. All of this is fun because the actors are gleefully refusing to take any of this seriously. The scene-stealers this time are Gibson, terrific as the swaggering villain, and Banderas, who's hilarious as the only person who can string a sentence together.

Ross and his team are feeling less than confident and decide to enlist a fresh team of skilled warriors who are much younger, fitter and more in tune with the ever developing technology of the armed forces. Nicolas Cage A "Highly Unlikely" Addition To Expendables 3

Nicolas Cage Sylvester Stallone Bruce Willis Jet Li Dolph Lundgren Jean Claude Van Damme Mickey Rourke Vanessa Hudgens Jason Statham Chuck Norris Terry Crews

After being rumoured to be joining the Expendables 3 cast, Knowing actor Nicolas Cage has shot down such murmurings in an interview with Den of Geek putting it plainly that he'd had no involvement so far: "I have not had any formal discussions about that movie," he said referring to Expendables. "I'm not in Kick-Ass 2 and I don't think I'm in Expendables 3. And I like those guys, but I would say it would be highly unlikely that I'd be in that movie," he added, destroying another fervent internet rumour while he was at it.

Small Apartments Trailer

Franklin Franklin is a wig-donning, Swiss wannabe loner who lives alone in a small apartment having previously lived with his mentally deranged brother Bernard. He's not the only eccentric character at the complex, however; his wacky neighbours include the Liquor store worker Tommy Balls, Tommy's herpes ridden girlfriend Rocky, the beautiful Simone and the ill-tempered Mr. Allspice. One day, Franklin finds himself in a spot of bother when he accidentally murders his landlord Mr. Olivetti when he pays him a visit about the rent (of lack of it). In an attempt to cover up the homicide, he clumsily stages it as a suicide, which the cops become very suspicious of. Things don't get any easier either, as his Franklin's brother dies suddenly from a brain tumour and he ends up getting badly beaten in the street. Will Franklin find that future that he dreams of? Or will his tedious life gradually spiral further out of control?
