Juliette Lewis is an Oscar-winning American actress, as well as a musician.
Juliette Lewis: Childhood
Juliette Lewis was born in Los Angeles, in California. Her father, Geoffrey Lewis, is an actor and her mother, Glenis Batley, is a graphic designer. Juliette's parents divorced when she was just two years old.
Juliette has two brothers named Lightfield and Peter, as well as two sisters, named Dierdre and Brandy.
Juliette showed an interest in acting at the age of six. When she was 12, she landed her first television role.
Juliette Lewis: Acting Career
Juliette Lewis first became a household name in 1991, when she starred as Danielle Bowden in the Martin Scorsese remake of Cape Fear. She was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
Lewis went on to perform a number of roles that would win over both the critics and the movie-going public, alike, such as her role in Peter Medak's Romeo Is Bleeding. She then starred opposite Brad Pitt in the cult classic Kalifornia. Lewis also worked with Pitt on Too Young To Die?
One of Juliette Lewis' most renowned performances was in Oliver Stone's Natural Born Killers, which was originally scripted by Quentin Tarantino. Lewis plays the lead female in the film, Mallory Knox, alongside Woody Harrelson.
In 1995, Lewis starred in Strange Days. In the film, she performs a cover of 'Hardly Wait', by PJ Harvey, predating Lewis's later stint as a singer in her own rock band.

Juliette Lewis has her own rock band, named Juliette and the Licks. The band has found moderate success, playing a number of high profile music festivals in the US and Europe. She was teamed up with the songwriter Linda Perry, who has previously written and produced tracks for the likes of Pink and Courtney Love.
Juliette Lewis has also appeared on three tracks by The Prodigy, 'Spitfire', 'Get Up Get Off' and 'Hot Ride.'
