In an entry on the Iron Man star's website, the couple explained that being parents to their two children was the priority for them right now.

The former model was found hanged in her Manhattan apartment on Monday 17th March whilst her boyfriend, Mick Jagger, was on tour with the Rolling Stones. Jagger is the only named beneficiary in L'Wren's will, with her adoptive siblings explicitly denied any of her $9 million estate. A child prodigy, Kate’s musical abilities were noticed young. She penned future hit ‘The Man With The Child In His Eyes’ when still at school, aged just 13. At sixteen Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd took notice and helped her record a demo that eventually led to her being offered a record deal. At the time she was still too young so the record company put her on a two year retainer. During this time she wrote and made demos of nearly 200 songs, before finally in 1978, she was unleashed on the world.

Wuthering Heights Singer Kate Bush Awarded CBE

Kate Bush

Kate Bush – the singer and songwriter who penned the hits ‘Wuthering Heights’ and ‘Running Up The Hill’ – has been awarded a CBE. Bush is a notoriously reclusive musician and rarely gives interviews. Indeed, after experiencing huge global success in the late 1970s and 1980s and releasing just one album in the 1990s her return in 2005 with Aerial was a welcome one, though it would be another 6 years before any further releases – with two albums, Director’s Cut and 50 Words For Snow.

Bush’s legacy as an artist is vast; you can hear her influence in the likes of Florence and the Machine, PJ Harvey and Bjork. Now, her body of work has been recognised with a CBE, which she collected at a ceremony at Windsor Castle, the BBC report. The 54 year old reportedly joked that the award would be taking pride of place atop her Christmas tree. Although she characteristically declined to speak directly to any journalists present at the ceremony, she did release a statement, which said “I feel incredibly thrilled to receive this honour which I share with my family, friends and fellow musicians and everybody who has been such an important part of it all.”

The CBE will join the Ivor Novello and Brit awards that she already owns. In the past, Kate has recorded collaborations with some of the most influential artists in modern rock and pop music, such as Prince, Elton John and Peter Gabriel.

Kate Bush Honoured With CBE By The Queen

Kate Bush

One of Britain’s most critically lauded pop stars has been given additional royal recognition, with the news that Kate Bush has been awarded with a CBE for her services to the Queen at an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, the BBC reports.

Perceived by the media to generally be elusive, Bush has in fact simply taken more enjoyment in the time of her family and personal life and seeking to attract any sort of fame in recent years, and she’s still been releasing records too, most recently 2011’s 50 Words For Snow, her 10th studio in 40 years. She first came to fame, of course, with 1978 hit Wuthering Heights. Accepting her honour at Windsor Castle, Bush declined to speak directly to the press, but did issue a press statement that said "I feel incredibly thrilled to receive this honour which I share with my family, friends and fellow musicians and everybody who has been such an important part of it all.” Bush also added "Now I've got something special to put on top of the Christmas tree."

The 54 year-old’s other hits include  Running Up That Hill and Babooshka, and she’s won both Brit and Ivor Novello awards. She’s a fine list of collaborators to her name too, including Sir Elton John, Eric Clapton, Peter Gabriel and Prince.

Kate Bush, Ewan McGregor And The Stars Of Team GB To Be Recognised In New Years Honours

Kate Bush Ewan McGregor Arlene Phillips

The Queen has chosen to honour those from the world of sport over most others with this year's New Years honours list, following a year of immense success by Britain during this Olympic world - however the list of honourees isn't totally dominated by the stars of Team GB.

From the entertainment world, singer Kate Bush has been awarded a CBE for her ongoing contribution to music, whilst Scottish actor Ewan McGregor is to be decorated with a OBE. Beloved childrens author Quentin Blake, whose work on the Roald Dahl books has made him internationally known, is set to receive knighthood. As well as Blake, the 'Wuthering Heights' singer and the The Impossible actor, some more unsuspecting stars are to be recognised by the Queen in her honours list, with anti-authoritarian artist Tracy Emin and choreographer and former Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips joining Bush as a CBE honouree. Speaking briefly after their honours were announced, Bush said she is "deeply honoured", whilst Phillips said: "I am very pleasantly surprised but mostly absolutely thrilled and delighted to receive such a wonderful honour."

Outside the entertainment world, the wife of former Prime Minister Tony Blair, Cherie Blair, has also been honoured with a CBE for her ongoing services to women's rights and issues and to charity in the UK and abroad. Fashion designer Stella McCartney will be honoured with an OBE and professor Peter Higgs, who theorised the Higgs-Boson or so-called 'God particle' 48 years ago, is to be awarded the Companion of Honour (as is Lord Seb Coe), after his theorized particle was finally proved to exist in July this year in the Large Hadron Collider.
