Katie Couric could be set to return to NBC’s “Today” show. The journalist is allegedly in talks with the network to potentially cover for Savannah Guthrie while she takes her maternity leave. 42 year old Guthrie is five months into her pregnancy and said to be taking her leave late this summer.

The position which Couric is said to be in the running for is currently temporary, although if ratings rise then the role could become permanent. The “Today” show is currently the No.2 morning show in the United States, the network may be hoping to take the top spot with Couric in the driving seat.

Katie Couric could be heading back to NBC's 'Today' on a temporary basis.

The 57 year-old is being eyed by the television network's bosses to replace Savannah Guthrie, who is departing on maternity leave later this year.

Couric worked on 'Today' from 1991 until 2006 before joining CBS Evening News and would be an ideal replacement due to her long and successful career on the show.

Katie Couric has gotten engaged to long-term beau John Molner! The talk show host and presenter was proposed to by her financier other half over the weekend as the two celebrated Labor Day in East Hampton, New York. The news was later confirmed by Couric's reps to E! News, after People originally reported the story. Congratulations guys!

Katie Couric is engaged to her boyfriend of two years John Molner. It seems Couric accepted his proposal over the Labour Day weekend. It seems the couple were enjoying a break in East Hampton, New York, when Molner proposed on the beach at sunset, according to sources speaking to People. Molner offered his future bride a beautiful diamond engagement ring, according to Couric's representative.

The television host has been dating banker John Molner for over two years. The couple first revealed their relationship publically in April 2012. The mother-of-two was previously married to Jay Monahan but was left widowed when he died, tragically, of colon cancer in 1998. She has had numerous romantic relationships over the past fifteen years but her relationship with Molner is the first to reach this serious stage.

Katie Couric, one of the most respected American journalists, has found love again at the age of 56. Couric, who lost her first husband Jay Monahan to colon cancer in 1998, and 50-year-old financier John Molner, announced their engagement over the Labor Day weekend.

People editor Larry Hackett congratulated Ms Couric during his own appearance on Good Morning America and joked about the timing, saying: "Katie's calling it her labor of love.”

The 44 year-old also dismissed the stereotypical earth-loving image of nudists whilst also denying that she is one: "This is absolute B.S.[...] What are we like, collecting eggs naked and walking around the lawns naked?"

Jennifer Aniston might enjoy the naked life onscreen, but she wants you to know that’s not the case in real life. The actress has been making the promotional press rounds for her latest movie We’re The Millers and one motif has been popping up over and over again has been the rumor that she and husband Justin Theroux enjoy the odd bit of nudism every now and then. Apparently, magazines have been slamming and praising Jen for embracing the nudist lifestyle – news that, besides not really being news, also hold no truth, according to Aniston. This is what the star explained in a chat with pal Chelsea Handler on the comerienne’s late night E! show Chelsea Lately.

Aniston was adamant that the clothes do not come off when she gets home.

"'Jen's started to embrace her curves at home since longtime lover, nudist Justin, has persuaded her to join in on the fun,' " Handler read from a tabloid article. " 'She was hesitant at first but now she finds it extremely liberating and they spend entire days at home without any clothes on and even cook naked.'"

Something's rotten in Denmark; Katie Couric is as bemused as were are at the 911 calls being made from her late husband, Jay Monahan's, landline. Fox News report Couric explaining the strange goings on to her studio audience.

"It's happened like three times the last three weeks," Couric reportedly told the live audience during a break in taping her talk show Katie. "Every day, every time at 2 a.m. on Tuesday morning. I was out of town the last time it happened and apparently it happened before when nobody was home," she said. "So I called Ray Kelly, who I know just through the years seeing at different things. 'Ray, this is so weird but can you help me? I don't know what to do.'" Reports suggest there have been least 10 calls placed from the line. Each time one of these calls goes through, a patrol car has responded to the calls. "The matter is under investigation. We're trying to determine if it's a malfunction or not," a police source said, according to The New York Daily News.

Couric married Jay Monahan in 1989 but found herself to be a widow not 10 years later, as Monahan sadly passed in '98 due to colon cancer. Since then, Couric has used her considerable clout to campaign and fulfil the role of spokesperson for colon cancer awareness.

When Katie Couric invited Robert De Niro, Bradley Cooper and David O. Russell on to her chat show to talk about the Oscar nominated Silver Linings Playbook, she probably did not expect to be passing a hanky to a crying Robert De Niro. That’s exactly what did happen though, on the show, which aired yesterday. After listening to David speaking about his experiences of having a son with bipolar disorder, DeNiro was unable to answer Couric’s next question, as he was too emotional.

Choking back tears, DeNiro didn’t explain much about his own experiences, but said “I don't like to get emotional, but I know exactly what [Russell] goes through.” Bradley Cooper, sat next to him on the sofa, leant over and patted his co-star on the back to comfort him and appeared to get tearful himself. The movie’s director, David O. Russell picked up the answer, sensing that DeNiro was unable to end the silence himself. “When I first was in (Robert DeNiro’s) apartment and I was talking to him about the screenplay, this is what happened. “I thought he was having hay fever, then I realized he was having an emotional reaction and I sat there and watched Robert De Niro cry for 10 minutes and I said, 'Wow he's really connecting with this material and this would be beautiful thing if it could work out, because I think his heart would be there' and it is there.”

Silver Linings Playbook, which also stars Jennifer Lawrence, has been nominated for eight Academy Awards. The awards ceremony is held on February 24, 2013.

It looks as though things are really hotting up between Harry Styles and Taylor Swift, who spent the second night together in New York this week. The One Direction star was snapped with 'bed hair' leaving Swift's Manhattan hotel on Thursday, 24 hours after he was photographed leaving the same place with his wash-bag. 

It's no secret that Styles and Swift have begun dating after they were spotted holding hands in Central Park following 1D's epic show at Madison Square Garden on Monday (December 3, 2012). The pair had first attended the after-show party together, where they joined Niall Horan and Ed Sheeran for a karaoke session, reportedly tackling a Backstreet Boys hit. Sheeran seemingly confirmed the relationship when quizzed about it on Katie Couric's show this week. "When I ask Taylor about her love life she goes radio silent on me, so is she dating Harry Styles from One Direction? What's going on there?" asked Couric. Sheeran replied with a wry smile, nodding and saying, "I mean the papers are saying it."

CNN have named their new boss, and it's the former NBC chief, Jeff Zucker, who has been charged with revamping CNN so they can again compete against its biggest rivals: Fox News Channel and MSNBC, NBC News reports.  Zucker moved on to Hollywood as NBC's entertainment president. He became head of NBC Universal, and achieved great financial success for the company by overseeing its highly profitable cable networks. 

"I spent the most rewarding years of my career as a journalist, and it's where I look forward to spending many more," said Zucker, who shot to fame as the executive producer of NBC's "Today" show at the start of its morning dynasty in the 1990s. Starting January, 2013 Zucker will be based in the big apple, and will report to Phil Kent, who runs all of the Turner networks for parent company Time Warner. "Jeff's experience as a news executive is unmatched for its breadth and success," Kent said. "He built and sustained the number-one brand in morning news, and under his watch NBC's signature news programming set a standard for quality and professionalism." 

Katie Couric - a long time friend of Zucker's who's been working with him for her talk show, 'Katie' - said in a statement on Thursday: "I'm very excited that Jeff has such a wonderful opportunity at CNN and equally excited for CNN. I'm also grateful that Jeff has been so instrumental in getting our show off to such a strong start and look forward to working with the fantastic staff we've assembled and building on the strong foundation we've created."

Yesterday (29th Oct. 2012) Anderson Live, the daytime chat show eponymously hosted by Anderson Cooper, was officially cancelled. Ratings for the news anchor's show just never really kicked off. Format changes, including a name change from just 'Anderson' to 'Anderson Live', were clearly not enough to nudge it into nationwide popularity. 

Reported in the Chicago Tribute, Cooper said "I am very proud of the work that our terrific staff has put into launching and sustaining our show for two seasons," and added that he looked forward "to doing more great shows this season ... I'm sorry that we won't be continuing." This followed the statement made by WarnerBros, stating "The series will not be coming back for a third season in a marketplace that has become difficult to break through." Anderson Live was competing with mid-day heavyweights such as Ellen Degeneres' 'Ellen', Dr Phil's 'Dr Phil' nor Katie Couric's 'Katie' (all imaginatively titled, as you can see). 

It's not the end of the world for Cooper who will still continue hosting his news program 'Anderson 360'. His career history includes international journalism, a lot of which was war reporting, including an award winning report from Sarajevo during the Bosnian war. A lot of his work is referred to in his 2006 memoir Dispatches From the Edge. 

Telepictures (the syndicated division of Warner Bros) have called time on Anderson Cooper's daytime chat show. According to LA Times, the CNN news personality's show, Anderson Live, will be no more, after its second season. 

The news broke on Friday (October 26, 2012), as Warner Bros executives began communicating the news to their associated TV stations. In a statement, Warner Bros said "We are extremely proud of Anderson and the show that he and the entire production team have produced... While we made significant changes to the format, set and produced it live in its second season, the series will not be coming back for a third season in a marketplace that has become increasingly difficult to break through. We will continue to deliver top-quality shows throughout next summer."

Anderson Live has faced significant competition from daytime pros such as Dr. Phil and new shows from the likes of Ricki Lake and Katie Couric. The show will end after its summer 2013 season. In a separate statement from Cooper himself, he said "I am very proud of the work that our terrific staff has put into launching and sustaining our show for two seasons... I am also grateful to Telepictures for giving me the opportunity, and indebted to viewers, who have responded so positively. I look forward to doing more great shows this season, and though I'm sorry we won't be continuing, I have truly enjoyed it."

Barbra Streisand is now half-way through her triumphant homecoming, having performed to a sell-out audience at Brooklyn’s Barclays Centre for the first time last night (October 11, 2012). The screen, stage and studio superstar will head back to her home town’s new massive concert venue for a second time tomorrow (October 13), before hitting the road once again as she continues her already massively successful Barbra Live tour.

Whilst blaSting out the hits last night, there was no shortage of famous faces in the crowd, with Barbara Walters, Jimmy Fallon, Sting, Katie Couric, Woody Allen, Michael Douglas and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg all spotted in the crowd. And if that wasn’t enough, the upper echelons of the fashion world also made an appearance at the show, designers Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors being spotted in the audience.

Streisand's ex-husband, Elliott Gould, was also at the event, in support of his and Barbara’s son Jason, who accompanied his mother on stage. Barbra introduced Jason to the audience as her “pride and joy,” before performing ‘How Deep Is the Ocean’ together.

Central Park in New York set the stage for a rock triple threat in the shape of Neil Young, The Foo Fighters and The Black Keys, all of whom banded together for a benefit mini-fest, Great Lawn Saturday night, in aid of putting an end to global poverty.

An audience of over 60,000 squeezed into the massive green space in the middle of the Big Apple on Saturday (29th September) night for a five-hour concert, all for free! Well, there was one catch, but it only involved attendees having to register at the website 'The Global Poverty Project,' which looks to find a way to bring an end to extreme financial inequality across the globe. And if inviting 60,000 lucky guests along to the event wasn't enough, the concert was also streamed live online via a number of differing websites.

As well as the big three, which also involved an impromptu stage invasion by Dave Grohl during Neil Young and Crazy Horse's set, the line-up for the day also featured Band Of Horses and 'Wavin' Flag' singer/rapper K'naan. The night didn't lose track of what it stood for though, with celebrities including Selena Gomez and Katie Couric going up on stage between performances to discuss the ongoing financial struggle that is felt the world over.

Katie Couric’s bulimia battle became the subject of yesterday’s episode of her new syndicated chat show (September 24, 2012). Couric explained, in an interview with Associated Press, that she felt it was important for her to be as honest with her audience as she asks her guests to be. “I kind of hesitated to even bring it up,” she said of the eating disorder. “But I felt that if I expect people on my show to be honest, then, when relevant, I owe it to people watching to be honest myself… I wanted to focus on my guests, while acknowledging one of the reasons this issue is so important to me: I went through it."

Couric explained that she first started struggling with the illness when she was rejected by her first choice of college. “Like a lot of young women, I was struggling with my body image," she said, "and feeling like I wasn't good enough or attractive enough or thin enough.” Couric managed to control the problem with the help of a therapist and explains “I've learned how to have a much healthier relationship with food, and how to enjoy my life without obsessing about food.”

Couric was joined by Demi Lovato for the show, as she placed the focus on the show’s guests, rather than on herself. The young X Factor judge is known to have suffered with bulimia herself, so agreed to appear on Couric’s chat show to discuss her experiences with her own body image issues.

Jessica Simpson has been proudly showing off her baby girl Maxwell in photos from her fiance Eric Johnson's 33rd birthday.

The singer/actress and her husband-to-be seem beyond happy with their 4-month-old firstborn in the black and white snaps posted on Jessica's lifestyle blog. One picture showed Eric smiling down at his daughter who he is holding in his arms with the caption, 'Daddy's 33rd Birthday!' Another photo shows Jessica, 32, with her child beneath another caption reading: 'Last year at Daddy's party, Maxwell was in my belly. This year she's in my arms!' She has also been sharing Maxwell with her Twitter followers with one image showing her and the happy parents smiling with a firework display behind them.

Although the star seems thrilled with her new life as a mother, losing her post-pregnancy baby weight has been less of a smooth ride. However, she has since embarked on a weight loss programme with Weight Watchers and has reportedly lost over 40 pounds since giving birth to Maxwell. She showed off her new figure on the Katie Couric show 'Katie' and remarked that she was told by doctors that her weight was 'a lot of water' which didn't all come out during the birth. 'I put on more baby weight than I was planning on putting on so I think that I really have to separate myself from the world's expectations and really just look inside of myself and have a relationship with myself and be healthy with myself. That is really important because I want to be a phenomenal role model for my child', she said.
