Chelsea Handler has decided to cancel her Netflix talk show 'Chelsea' after just two seasons in order to focus more on political affairs and engage with people of various backgrounds in order to further her knowledge of global issues. However, she won't be distancing herself with Netflix.

The 42-year-old comedian has exchanged her light-hearted show for a career in activism, beginning work on a new Netflix project which will be a documentary featuring people of different ethnicities and culture. She opened up about her new direction in a social media post yesterday (October 18th 2017).

The often controversial Chelsea Handler has become the latest celebrity to take Instagram to task over their policy regarding female nudity. The comedian posted a topless photo on the site yesterday (October 30th) and quickly found that her image was in violation of the community guidelines and had been removed.

Chat show host and comedian Jay Leno lands the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, which comes months after his final retirement from NBC's 'The Tonight Show' earlier this year.

The accolade is the top comedy award offered in the United States, and it was well-deserved by Leno who has presented TV viewers with endless laughter throughout his 37 year television career.  On his receipt of the honour at the Kennedy Center in Washington on Sunday (October 19th 2014), he was praised and made fun of by his comedy peers including Jerry Seinfeld, Wanda Sykes, Garth Brooks, Chelsea Handler and his 'Tonight Show' successor Jimmy Fallon.

Chelsea Handler is leaving E! to join the online community.

The 39 year-old has reportedly signed a 7-year deal with Netflix that is set to start this coming fall, the streaming site announced Thursday (June 19th).

Handler's new gig will see her appear in comedy specials and helm a brand new talk show in 2016.

Chelsea Handler has announced her decision to leave her post as talkshow host on E!'s Chelsea Lately, which will reportedly come to a close in August. The news was confirmed by the channel on Wednesday after months of speculation over Handler's plans to split from E!.

"I myself am more surprised than anyone that I was able to hold down a job for seven years, and it was a fantastic seven years," she said in a statement. "I will always look back at my time on E! as most people look back at their time in college. I'm glad I went."

It's currently unclear where Chelsea will appear next though she has indicated that she'd like to play a part in appointing a similarly funny female presenter to take her space in late night programming.
