In the wake of the poor ratings it suffered last year, Simon Cowell has made changes to ‘The X Factor’ by axing co-presenter Caroline Flack, soon after Nick Grimshaw confirmed that he had quit the judging panel of his own accord.

According to The Sun, 36 year old Flack is said to have paid the price for the criticism that she and co-host Olly Murs received as they presented the ITV show for the first time last year. The final episode averaged viewing figures of only 5.95 million, amid flagging ratings plaguing the whole series, and it’s not clear that Murs will keep his place either as the pair were frequently criticised for making mistakes.

Though some have speculated that he was severely disheartened by Rita Ora’s apparent ‘snub’ during ‘The X Factor’ final at the weekend, Olly Murs has insisted that he wasn’t annoyed by the judge’s implication that he hadn’t made an “impression” on the charts.

After Louisa Johnson had scooped the grand prize on Sunday night’s live final (December 13th), Ora had proclaimed that only she and 2006 winner Leona Lewis had made any impact on the charts. While the audience applauded the obviously untrue statement (erm, One Direction?), 2009 runner-up Murs was said to have looked upset at the backhanded insult.

Actor Steve Carell had difficulty working on the 'Anchorman' sequel because he found Will Ferrell so funny it was ''almost impossible'' to work with him. The 51-year-old 'Despicable Me' actor apparently had no quarrels with immediately signing on for 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues', as the 2004 original was the "best fun" he's ever had. On the flip side, it made his job incredibly difficult, as he was almost unable to film certain scenes as he struggled to keep his composure.

Graham Norton Reveals Olly Murs' Crush On Mila Kunis (In Front Of Mila)

Olly Murs Mila Kunis Graham Norton

Graham Norton well and truly embarrasses Olly Murs on the latest episode of his chat show, set to air tonight (March 1, 2013), revealing the pop-star's crush on Mila Kunis - as you may have guessed by now, Hollywood actress Mila was sitting just inches away. Prankster Norton read out tweets that Murs had written about the 'Oz: The Great And Powerful' actress, leaving the singer red-faced.

Murs has long tweeted of his liking for Mila, though Norton read out a few select cringe-worthy posts on his show. Olly had once selected the actress as the woman he would "most like to have kids with," much to the audience's delight. Apologising, Murs said, "I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would actually meet her," though the cheeky-chappy added, "Olly and Mila has a great ring to it!" Mila - who is in the UK promoting Sam Raimi's Wizard of Oz prequel - took everything in good humour, graciously replying, "This is so flattering".

It's certainly an all-star line-up on tonight's show, with Kunis and Murs being joined by Skyfall actress Dame Judi Dench and Side Effects star Jude Law. As musical guest, Olly will be performing his track 'Army of Two.'

Out Now: UK Album Releases, Olly Murs, McFly, Alicia Keys, Girls Aloud

Olly Murs is currently riding high on the UK Singles chart with ‘Troublemaker’ but can he make it a double-whammy with his third studio album? It will mean shaking Rihanna off the top of the tree; she’s currently sat there with Unapologetic, but will the UK decide to favour Olly’s boyish charms, over tabloid perennial Rhi Rhi?

Right Place Right Time is the third full-length release from Murs, who manages to maintain a presence on prime-time TV with his Xtra Factor presenting duties, even when he’s not releasing records. His harmless and affable charm seem to do as well for him as his song choices and the success of ‘Troublemaker’ will, of course, help sales of the album. Which just happens to be coming out a few weeks before Christmas. Which is kind of handy because he’s the kind of middle-of-the-road pop act you can purchase as an ambitious stocking filler, or for your Secret Santa at work, for the girl that doesn’t really seem to care about music very much.

JLS Pull Prank On Olly Murs For Channel 4

Olly Murs JLS Aston Merrygold Marvin Humes

For a few seconds, Olly Murs thought he had seriously injured JLS star Aston Merrygold. The prank was filmed for Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer show, which is coming next Friday, October 19 to UK Screens.

According to The Mirror, Murs was interviewing his pop counterparts, JLS, when Aston volunteered to be shot out of a cannon, and Ollie was nominated to press the button to launch him clear. When the big moment came, with the tension at a suitably palpable level…. nothing happened. But, being a stereotypical guy, Ollie smacked the button a second time, even harder, and was seen to be shocked as Aston shot out of the cannon, missed the safety net and smacked into a wooden stage. It turned out that the body fired out of the cannon didn’t belong to Aston at all but an experienced stuntman. All was well, of course, as was the man Ollie shot from the canon, but for some time, Mr Murs thought he’d dealt some real damage to his fellow pop star. "Still recovering, still shaking & still shocked!! ‪@JLSOfficial‬ you got me proper today!!" he tweeted after the hoax. JLS star Marvin Humes added: "Just did an amazing prank with @ollyofficial and lots of JLSters!! Absolutely hilarious! Can't wait for u all to see!!"

Stand Up To Cancer represents a collaboration between Channel 4 and Cancer Research. It will see some of he biggest UK stars do all sorts of things, pranks included, to raise money and awareness of Cancer treatment.
