Alec Baldwin Will Continue To Do His Donald Trump Impersonation

Alec Baldwin Donald Trump

Following a string of memorable appearances on ‘Saturday Night Live’ in the last few months, Alec Baldwin has suggested that he’ll continue to do his impersonation of president-elect Donald Trump as much as his busy schedule will allow.

The 58 year old actor is set to be the host of a new 10-episode series of revived game show ‘Match Game’ in 2017, but he told ABC News over the weekend that despite the significant time commitment he’ll try to help out on ‘SNL’ with his Trump character as often as possible – and that he might bring it to some other platforms!

“I'm gonna do [my impression] as much as I can,” Baldwin said, “and there's discussions about other venues we might pursue to further express our gratitude and admiration for the Trump administration.”

The Boss Baby Trailer

What happens when a baby takes the top position? Seven-year-old Tim Templeton was doing just fine until his parents brought home his new baby brother, who seemed determined to attract as much attention as possible and steer their parents' sights away from poor Tim. Sibling rivalry is a natural thing, but Tim is exasperated by his mom and dad's blindness towards the baby, who happens to be constantly dressed in a business suit and carries a mini briefcase. It seemed inevitable that the baby would grow up to be a boss someday, though everyone expected him to actually grow up first. One day, Tim discovers that the baby can talk, though it's less 'goo goo ga ga' and more 'let's strike a deal'. As much as this news rocks Tim's world, he must team up with his bossy little brother when they discover that the CEO of Puppy Co., Francis E. Francis, wants to take over the world.

Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation Review

Very Good

Writer-director Christopher McQuarrie brings a dark and gritty tone to this larger-than-life franchise. Along with a constant stream of barbed humour, the film has an enjoyably knotted mystery plot and action set-pieces that feel like they're grounded in the real world. It's a terrific shift into earthy believability for a series of movies that has previously indulged in gleefully incoherent narratives and exaggerated explosive chaos.

Right from the start, our hero Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is an outsider. As he searches for a shady assassin (Sean Harris) and his mythical organisation The Syndicate, Ethan's Impossible Mission Force is being dissolved by the US government. CIA Director Hunley (Alec Baldwin) absorbs the IMF team, but tech genius Benji (Simon Pegg) secretly helps Ethan, enlisting Luther (Ving Rhames) and William (Jeremy Renner) as well. Soon, all three are gallivanting from Vienna to Morocco and back to London, as Ethan works with double or perhaps triple agent Ilsa (Rebecca Ferguson) to prove that The Syndicate exists and stop its nefarious plan.

The film plays out like an edgy James Bond adventure, as Ethan works with a possibly dangerous woman in exotic locations in pursuit of some very shadowy baddies. McQuarrie's script is unusually lucid for this genre, piecing together the various elements expertly, building a genuine sense of tension without ever letting things tip over into overblown silliness. The chase sequences are remarkably rough and unpredictable, avoiding digital trickery to create moments that are jaw-droppingly authentic. As usual, we can tell that Cruise does his own stunts; the opening hanging-from-an-airplane scene is awesome, and a helmet-free motorbike chase looks even more perilous. With the IMF disbanded, it's never quite clear how Ethan funds his one-man operation, but he has a terrific supply of cool gadgets stashed all over Europe.

The IMF (Impossible Mission Force) have been active for years, but it's time has run out. Still Alice Review

Extraordinary

For a film about early onset Alzheimer's, this is a remarkably wry, honest and even hopeful drama, anchored by another staggeringly sensitive performance by Julianne Moore. Writing-directing team Richard Glatzer and Wash Westmoreland are known for their observant depictions of human interaction (see Quinceañera), and they fill the screen with sharp dialogue and earthy emotions that make this much more than another movie about a disease. Instead, it's about how people can transcend what life throws at them, even if it knocks them down.

Moore stars as Alice, a New York linguistics professor who has just turned 50 when she starts noticing that she's forgetting words and getting lost. Her doctor gives her the tough diagnosis, and she uses her dry wit and sharp intellect to face the future with her steady husband John (Alec Baldwin) and their three grown children: married and pregnant Anna (Kate Bosworth), aspiring actress Lydia (Kristen Stewart) and free-spirit Tom (Hunter Parrish). The hardest thing to learn is that the disease is familial, and that she has passed it to at least one of her children. So while she can, Alice makes a contingency plan for the future as she watches her family members each react in a different way.

No, this isn't a light and breezy movie. But the filmmakers balance the moments of gut-wrenching emotion with smart humour ("Sorry, I forgot - I have Alzheimer's!") and bracing honesty ("I wish I had cancer!"). Moore is uncannily raw in the role, subtly revealing Alice's transformation in ways we barely notice until we're reminded what she used to be like. Even more powerful is her own awareness of what's happening. Opposite her, Baldwin has terrific camaraderie and an unexpected warmth, while both Bosworth and Stewart get a chance to dig much deeper as actors than they usually do. And what makes the film special is the way Alice's interaction with each character is uniquely individualistic.
