The Amanda Bynes train wreck screeched to a halt in July this year, when the former Nickelodeon star was sent to a psychiatric ward at UCLA for evaluation. A few months down the line and Amanda was allowed to leave the psych ward and was admitted to a Malibu-based rehab centre for further observation. Now, she's ready to go home.

Speaking to People, Amanda's mother's lawyer Tamar Arminak revealed that Amanda has been deemed fit enough to go home for the holidays. A statement from Arminak read, "Amanda and her entire family would like to thank everyone who's contacted them with good thoughts and wishes for Amanda's recovery. Amanda has completed her inpatient rehabilitation and she's feeling better every day."

Amanda Bynes is out of the rehab clinic and on the up, according says a statement from lawyer Tamar Arminak, via People. The 27 year-old actress was hospitalised in July after her increasingly immoral behaviour culminated in her setting fire to a California driveway as well as her own dog in July.

Now it appears that the She's The Man actress has been discharged from the Malibu clinic and is in the care of her mother who has also assumed indefinite control over Bynes's well-being and finances.

It was an interesting and worrying choice of medical care to be made, however it is one that her parents have since said was done for the former child star's own good.

Addressing the move, Rick and Lynn said that yes, it was for the best, as they believed that the UCLA Medial Center where Amanda was initially staying had done all it could for Amanda.

Amanda Bynes’s psychiatric hold has been extended to one whole year, according to TMZ. After the former childstar spent the better part of the last six months providing fodder for gossip columns with her questionable behavior, she was finally detained on a 5150 hold at the end of July. She has remained at a mental health facility since then, with her parents filing for a conservatorship.

Now, according to TMZ, Bynes’ doctors have asked the court to extend her stay to a year and their request has been granted. Control over the hold has reportedly been transferred to Bynes’ mother, who is currently the temporary conservator. It is unlikely that the troubled actress will remain at the facility for the entire year, however. TMZ reports that current plans are for Amanda to stay for 60 days, long enough for doctors to stabilize her, and then to be moved to her mother’s home, where she can spend the rest of her detainment.

Amanda Bynes has been winding down a long spiral of self-destruction over the past few months - one that has won the troubled former child star plenty of tabloid inches - with her behaviour getting increasingly unstable as the weeks went on. Hopefully, the Amanda Show star will be able to find some stability in her life from here on in, as her mother, Lynn Bynes, was granted legal authority over her daughter, as People have reported that the star will be placed in a temporary conservatorship following a psychiatric evaluation.

Reiser ruled that Amanda was in no fit state to take care of herself and approved her mother's appeal to retain legal control of her daughter. It was also revealed at the court hearing that the former child star will now be placed in a 30-day psychiatric hold for further evaluation after spending 17 days in hospital following a bizarre incident when she was found in the driveway of a house in a retirement community stood around a fire she had started.

Dog walkers at a New York City park have banded together and signed a petition to get the star banned because of her misconduct around other people and their animals as well as the mistreatment of her own pet. According to OK Magazine, reported by the Belfast Telegraph, Pet owners who frequent a dog park off 23rd Street and Madison Square Park in NYC have decided enough is enough, with one source even going so far as to describe Bynes as "awful," saying "So far the petition at our dog park has over 200 signatures to get her banned because of how awful she is."

The statements claim that the retired actress has become "extremely paranoid about being watched," and she covers smoke alarms with towels and tapes windows shut to prevent cameras from shooting her.

Originally intended to last just s72-hours, the court extended Bynes’ stay in hospital to two weeks. The measure was reportedly taken, so that doctors would have enough time to observe and properly diagnose Bynes.

Amanda Bynes’ recent fiery incident might have had direr consequences than the starlet anticipated. Sure, there is the 5150 psychiatric hold, and the trouble she caused to the residents of the house – people Bynes reportedly had no connection with. Not only that, but there seems to have been a victim – Bynes’ pet Pomeranian. Accounts of the incident differ, however, a video obtained by TMZ shows Bynes rushing into a liquor store shortly after the incident and carrying her furry friend.

According to the store owner’s account, after Bynes carried the dog into an employees only area, she proceeded to thoroughly rinse the little fellah in the sink – presumably to wash off the gasoline. Another eyewitness gave TMZ a detailed account of what had happened after the Easy A star lit the fire in an elderly woman’s driveway.

People have been calling for some kind of psychiatric evaluation to be given to Amanda Bynes for a long time now, and after months of bizarre behaviour and questionable Twitter etiquette, the former child star has been forced to undergo a mental health evaluation in California. The former Amanda Show star is currently in hospital on a 5150 psychiatric hold after starting a small fire in someone's driveway Monday night, and is expected to remain under surveillance for the foreseeable future.

As TMZ first reported, Bynes was arrested in Thousand Oaks, California at around 9 p.m. local time for setting a fire in an unknown, elderly woman's driveway. The police were alerted when an eagle eyed neighbour spotted the blaze and called the local sheriff, who found Amanda stood next to the fire in a delirious state. Delirious, meaning that when she was questioned by the deputy sheriff who arrived at the scene as to what exactly was going on, she gave unintelligible answers. So unintelligible that she was instantly deemed worthy of hospitalisation, where she could be held on a 5150 hold - in other words, she was sectioned.

Amanda Bynes was seen attending Manhattan Criminal Court yesterday (9th July). The former child-actor is allegedly being charged with reckless endangerment, tampering with physical evidence and possession of marijuana according toNY Daily News. It appears the charges surround an alleged incident in which Bynes threw a bong out of a 36th floor window.

The incident occurred after Rudy Toro, the manager of the building in which Bynes was staying, complained to police that she had rolled and smoked a joint in the lobby. When police entered her apartment she threw the drug paraphernalia out of the window. She later claimed when questioned that the item was "a vase".

In case you hadn't heard, everyone's favourite ticking time-bomb Amanda Bynes is dead set on becoming a rapper, and it has been looking increasingly more likely that her ambition will be realised ever since she shared it on Twitter. First, we heard that representative from Chinga Chang Records were meeting with the former child star with an offer to record her album, and now she has an even more well-known helping hand in the form of rapper Waka Flocka Flame.

Waka Flocka was speaking to TMZ this week when he said that he is currently in talks with Amanda to get her to join up with his label; Brick Squad Monopoly records, saying that although the two have not signed anything yet, the deal is all but done already. Waka is apparently so keen on linking up with Bynes on some tracks that he's already hired some people to write songs for the Easy A actress and has pledged his own rapping talent to a number of tracks on the album, which he said will be called Shots. He then warned TMZ; "It's going to be crazy hot."

The rapper also revealed that his work with Bynes is more than just for business, revealing that the two have become quite good friends since her rapping ambitions were made public; telling TMZ that the two text each other every day and regularly FaceTime on Skype - mostly to discuss her rap career but also so that Waka can give Amanda advice and tell her not to let the haters bring her down (we're honestly not making this up). When asked about Amanda's recent behaviour and whether there might be something up with her he was equally as defensive, saying, "Not at all. She has it all together to me. She is cool as hell and ready for the rap world. I think she is going to kill the game."

Amanda Bynes latest Twitter rant was levelled squarely at drag queen RuPaul, whom the television star described as being as ugly as her father. Bynes had begun the day by referring to writers at People magazine as "faggots," saying, ""Um, Peoplemag Hello? I'm not lost and alone! W H A T T H E F * C K A R E Y O U T A L K I N G A B O U T ? Follow me on twitter you faggots!"

Though she quickly deleted the tweet, RuPaul caught a glimpse of it, replying, "Derogatory slurs are ALWAYS an outward projection of a person's own poisonous self-loathing @AmandaBynes." Of course, Amanda took the bait and responded to RuPaul with a wave of abuse, saying, "My dad is as ugly as RuPaul! So thankful I look nothing like you both! I had nose surgery after my mug shots so my nose and I are gorgeous!"

RuPaul is known for her strong stance on derogatory slurs and told the Huffington Post's Gay Voices last year, "[I]n the ACT UP age we called ourselves queers because we earned the right, we took the word back. But in reality, once you go even deeper, you know, you have to come from intent. And black folks call themselves the n-word all the time. It's because the intent is coming from a place of love. If the intent is coming from a place of hatred, that's different"

Amidst drug busts, court dates and apartment evictions, Amanda Bynes hasn't been having the best 2013 so far, however the former child star has begun to look on the bright side of things, taking to Twitter (for a change) to give a positive update on her current criminal charges and reflect on the bright side of things following her routine exposure in the press.

"The DA and my lawyer talked today. They have no proof of drugs on me or around me at anytime during the arrest or after," the actress/wannabe rapper revealed on Monday (June 3) through the social media site, before reflecting on the major positive to come out of the whole ordeal; that she's much more famous now. She continued, "All I'm becoming is more famous! Thanks for lying about me!"

Amanda isn't out of the woods just yet though, as she still has a follow-up court date to attend on June 7, but if Amanda's Tweet is telling the truth then she may not face any major charges. The Easy A actress no longer has to worry about complaints from her neighbours any more either, with Bynes reportedly moving out of her New York apartment last week. The exact reason behind her departure from the building is unclear, however the celebrity obviously didn't get along with her neighbours, so we're guessing it had something to do with that.

Troubled star Amanda Bynes has reportedly been evicted from her New York City apartment following her arrest for drugs related offenses. A source from the New York Police Department told gossip mag In Touch Weekly that Bynes "was notified that she is no longer welcome as a tenant in the building in light of recent events." It was apparently at 9pm on Tuesday that several movers turned up to get Amanda's belongings out of the apartment.

Residents in the building have allegedly complained about her numerous times due to her reported marijuana use and general behaviour. On May 23, building officials at the swanky 271 West 47th Street called police to report Bynes was rolling a joint and smoking in the lobby. Several news outlets including TMZ.com reported how the 27-year-old threw a bong out of the window and was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and taken for a psychiatric evaluation. 

Despite her erratic behaviour, which has included a Twitter spat with Rihanna, Bynes' attorney Richard Hutton says she's fine, "Amanda is a normal client.I've seen no indication of anything other than that. She is fully cooperating with me."

Her latest Twitter-tirade sees Drag Race host, RuPaul take the brunt, along with her father. "My dad is as ugly as RuPaul! So thankful I look nothing like you both! I had nose surgery after my mug shots so my nose and I are gorgeous!" she posted. But RuPaul, being the wise soul that he is, hit back with a Tweet that almost certainly bestows upon him the revelry of the ‘last laugh’. "Derogatory slurs are ALWAYS an outward projection of a person's own poisonous self-loathing @AmandaBynes," he wrote, basically confirming everything that everyone knows about Amanda Bynes. He may have ruined it by Tweeting "I'm a man, duh!" afterwards. But we’ll just ignore it.

A lot of people thought that Bynes had been hacked on Twitter last week, as she posted some pretty disgusting stuff to Rihanna. Stuff like, “Chris Brown beat you because you're not pretty enough.” Bynes, of course, claims that she didn’t write these tweets, and talked of her fondness and affection for Rihanna, but instead of claiming she’d been hacked, she asserted that someone had ‘mocked up’ the tweets. It really doesn’t make any sense.

There is something wrong with Amanda Bynes, says Lance Bass. The actress and the Dirty Pop with Lance Bass host were once thick as thieves. But recently, Bass has felt the wrath of Amanda’s twitter stream, like so many stars before him. Bynes’ outburst was prompted by Bass suggesting that the 27-year-old Nickelodeon star might be suffering from a mental disorder.

"She deleted all of her email addresses and cell phone numbers so none of her friends can get in touch with her," Bass said on his SiriusXM show, according to New York Daily News. Bass claims that his former pal has cut off all communication with family and friends and the only way to get any insight into her life is through her twitter stream: "Everything is deleted. She obviously has a cell," he continued. "She's tweeting, but none of her friends can get to her. Her family and friends can't get to her ... so the only way into her life is through Twitter."

Meanwhile, Amanda hasn’t been keeping quiet about Lance either. She claims that his mental disorder comment wasn’t prompted by concern, it was just Bass trying to get her attention... or something of that sort, it isn’t quite clear: "I ignored Lance Bass on twitter and now he is saying I have a mental illness," Bynes tweeted. "Sorry you're an ugly ex boy band member w/no talent or career."

According to a resident in Amanda Bynes’ apartment complex in NYC, living with the star is a nightmare of horror movie proportions. An anonymous neighbor of the retired actress talked to the New York Post about her erratic behavior and questionable habits. “She stares you out in the elevator. Residents are terrified to be alone with her. She knocked on one woman’s door, and when it opened, she screamed ‘You’re ugly,’ and ran away. Amanda always seems to be alone, muttering to herself and looking completely out of it.”

If what the unnamed resident is true, then Bynes’ behavior has gone beyond quirky, bordering on psychotic. Most news outlets have been buzzing with sightings of the star, behaving not exactly like herself. It began with sightings of Bynes around town in a number of strange wigs, drastic changes to her appearance like the infamous cheek piercings and then reports started coming in of Bynes shoplifting, posting nude photos on twitter and generally abusing social media. It isn't a pretty picture.

However, according to The Daily Mail, the actress’s LA based family has made a move to file for a conservatorship. According to The Mail’s source, Rick Bynes is currently in New York, but isn’t able to do anything about his daughter’s condition, because she refuses to see him. Hopefully, Bynes Sr. will be able to help Amanda get the help she apparently needs.

The 'is she really crazy?' saga surrounding Amanda Bynes continues to be added to from both sides of the argument. On Friday (May 31) evening, a seriers of interview excerpts from her neighbours living in the New York City apartment complex where Bynes was arrested was published by The New York Post, and not one of them had a nice thing to say about the troubled star.

Actually, some of the stuff that got said is quite extreme and paint a rather damning portrait of the former child star as someone who made life in the apartment a living hell. One resident at the West 47th Street building described living with the star “like living with Linda Blair in ‘The Exorcist,’” whilst another went on further and gave a few examples of why Bynes is such a lousy neighbour. They said, “She stares you out in the elevator. Residents are terrified to be alone with her. She knocked on one woman’s door, and when it opened, she screamed ‘You’re ugly,’ and ran away. Amanda always seems to be alone, muttering to herself and looking completely out of it.”

The two interviewees weren't the only ones fed up with Bynes' behaviour either, as one said that just about everyone in the building - staff and residents - is completely fed up with Bynes' behaviour in the public areas of the building. A source also went on to recollect the day before her arrest, when she apparently high-tailed it from a cab without paying the $150 fare, leaving her cell phone in the backseat. The source went on to add, "the good news is, she hasn’t been seen in the building since her arrest.”

The Amanda Bynes saga is getting weirder and weirder. Firstly, she called Rihanna ugly and said the reason that Chris Brown beat her up was because she wasn't pretty enough. Then she said it wasn't her in control of the Twitter account at the time. Now she's saying the Bajan star is a "beauty" as well as posting a photograph of the pair she says was "mocked up". It's all well and good, only, the picture - taken in 2007 - is real, according to the New York Daily News. Does Amanda really not remember?

"This is a mocked up image I found on the Internet that I LOVE!" Bynes, 27, wrote. "I love @rihanna! She's such a beauty!" The photograph was a real picture of the pair posing  with Chris Daughtry in 2007, which Bynes clearly doesn't remember. The actress' bizarre feud with Rihanna began late last week, with the troubled star telling the singer, "You look so ugly tryin to be white."

Bynes deleted the tweets and claimed she never wrote them, saying, "I saw a bunch of mocked up tweets about me bashing Rihanna in my mentions," though most news outlets have screenshots of the tweets from Amanda's page. In other words, these weren't 'fake' posts circulating Twitter.

We could hardly watch as Amanda Bynes delivered her latest scathing celebrity Twitter attack this week. The target? Hole singer Courtney Love. The rock singer replied, "@Alyssa_Milano so glad to see this. The industry can be so tough on the soul at times, but it redeems itself with people like you."

Bynes has endured a pretty rough week, getting arrested at her New York apartment for drug possession and shooting down a number of celebrities on Twitter. She reportedly told Rihanna that Chris Brown assaulted her because she wasn't pretty enough. She then told John Legend's girlfriend Chrissy Tiegen, "Ur not a pretty model compared to me. I signed to Ford models @ age 13. I don't look up to u beauty wise. I'm far prettier than u! I'm offended that you're saying I have a mental illness when I show no sign of it, but thankfully not one man that wants me wants you and you are anold ugly model compared to me! You look 45! You're not pretty so I'm not intimidated by you! I think you're jealous that you're just an ugly model whos career is uninspiring! I don't respect you! You're no beauty queen! I'm a beauty queen!" Wowzers! The rant came after Tiegen wrote on Twitter, "The fact that Amanda Byneshas any "support" to retweet is really unsettling. ...Support people with mental illness, yes. But don't condone/enable scary and poor behaviour."

Amanda Bynes' bizarre week continued in ridiculous style this week, with the former Nickelodeon star allegedly slamming Rihanna on Twitter and claiming her abusive ex-boyfriend Chris Brown beat her because she's not pretty enough. Bynes tweeted, "@rihanna Chris Brown beat you because you're not pretty enough," before hastily deleting the tweet.

She followed the nasty jibe up with another insult, claiming she was considering naming her dog after Rihanna. The Bajan pop-star appeared to get wind of the deleted tweets pretty quickly, posting, "Ya see what happens when they cancel Intervention?" before Bynes responded, "unlike ur fugly faced self I don't do drugs! U need the intervention dog! I met ur ugly face in person! U aren't pretty u know it!" (she deleted the tweet shortly afterwards).

The latest on the bizarre rant is that Amanda Bynes is claiming the tweets were fake and were posted by someone else. "I saw a bunch of mocked up tweets about me bashing Rihanna in my mentions. I'm followed by so many people that someone is always mocking up fake tweets so I feel the need to address them!" she added on Twitter. So we're none the wiser really, are we?

No one really saw this one coming: Amanda Bynes launched a surprising and racist attack on Rihanna, posting a multitude of offensive tweets. The former Disney star will have some questions to answer to, but was it really her?

Amanda wrote: “@Rihanna you look so ugly tryin to be white,” before saying, “Chris Brown beat you because you’re not pretty enough.” Amanda then retweeted a post from Rihanna which said: “Look who came to see me!! My lover Stella McCartney!!!” and subsequently responded: “No one wants to be your lover so you call everyone and their mother that I almost named my new dog Rihanna.” Rihanna did have her say, though, writing “Ya see what happens when they cancel Intervention?” Amanda, 27, wasn’t finished there, though, and said: “Unlike ur fugly faced self I don't do drugs! U need the intervention dog! I met ur ugly face in person! U aren't pretty u know it!” Bynes was in trouble last week for allegedly throwing a foot long bong out of the 36th floor of her New York apartment. You thought we were going to say Subway, didn’t you? Anyway, she maintains it was a vase, which, when you think about, makes little difference to the fact she threw something off the 36th floor.

It wouldn’t be totally unbelievable for her to send these tweets to Rihanna, but we don’t think she’s racist. A spoilt brat with a plethora of issues, yes, but not a racist.

Plot twist in the Amanda Bynes arrest story: following the troubled actress’s arrest earlier this week for marijuana possession, Bynes has claimed that she was sexually harassed by one of the arresting officers. Bynes made the allegations over Twitter this Saturday, the New York Post reports. Over several tweets, the star made the following statement: “Don’t believe the reports about me being arrested. It’s all lies. I was sexually harassed by one of the cops the night before last which is who then arrested me.”

She later went on to explain her side of the story: “He lied and said I threw a bong out the window when I opened the window for fresh air. Hilarious.”

Sarcasm aside, however, the accusations Bynes has made are very serious and are being taken as such. Law enforcement officials are looking into the case and an NYPD spokesperson said, following Bynes’ Twitter outburst: “He lied and said I threw a bong out the window when I opened the window for fresh air. Hilarious.”
