The childhood home of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney in Speke, Liverpool, is to be sold at auction. The terraced house in Western Avenue was home to McCartney and his parents from 1947 until the mid-1950s and has a guide price of £100,000.

Kanye West has launched a mysterious new website that features only a countdown and nothing else. The site, called Yeezy Supply, has been the cause of a great deal of speculation as to what it’s there to promote.

At the time of writing, the countdown will expire in a little over five days – or, more precisely, at 9pm on Thursday 12th February. The most likely explanation is that this is the same day as the start of New York Fashion Week, and that the countdown is connected to some sort of live show or announcement about a new fashion range.

Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney will cement their new musical collaboration by performing at a Super Bowl party on Saturday night (31st January). Rihanna will be performing at the Super Bowl DirecTV party in Glendale, Arizona the night before the big game. Joined by her two new collaborators, Rihanna is likely to perform their track 'FourFiveSeconds' on which McCartney plays acoustic guitar and Rihanna and West provide the vocals.

Paul McCartney's a Grammys regular and it will give Rihanna serious kudos to have a Beatle backing her on stage. It is going to be a huge Grammys moment.”

Well, it’s happening – this week saw the creative duo drop FourFiveSeconds – an acoustic offering in the vein of their previous track. FourFiveSeconds was made available on RihannaNow.com over the weekend.

The track is an anti-negativity anthem in the same vein as West’s 2014 album Yeezus, with him and Rihanna providing all the vocals as McCartney backs them on piano. It’s a smooth track, and definitely should make it on your weekend playlist (maybe in between Kedrick Lamar’s I (Love Myself) and Chance the Rapper’s No Better Blues). It’s Kanye’s second crack at the acoustic, minimally-produced, no beat genre and we’re pretty into it.

Insiders said that West's wife Kim Kardashian had been heard telling friends that she was surprised by the provocative name. West, who has declined to comment on the rumors, was present at McCartney's show at the Los Angeles Dodger Stadium last week and the singer-songwriter has previously spoken of his desire to collaborate with Kanye.

During an interview with Zane Lowe during the publicity tour for his solo album New, McCartney said he had "resisted the temptation to get a rapper in" for his funk-enthused track Appreciate, though would have chosen either Kanye or Jay-Z for the job.

On Thursday, San Francisco's iconic Candlestick Park had its final event. The stadium, which has hosted games 49ers and Giants games for over five decades, was saluted by Paul McCartney with a gig that lasted until midnight. A Westminster councillor is making plans to create a job opening for a lollipop lady or man to work at the famous 'Beatles' zebra crossing outside the Abbey Road Studio. Hundreds of music fans visit the crossing in St John's Wood each day, slowing traffic by recreating the famous album cover.

Ron Howard will direct and produce a fully authorized documentary on The Beatles touring years between 1960 and 1966, it has been confirmed. This is Howard’s second music documentary, following last year’s Jay-Z festival film 'Made in America.'

Big news, Beatles fans: a new authorised documentary on the rock icons is in the works, with Ron Howard slated to direct. The film will include new interviews with both surviving members, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as Yoko Ono Lennon and Olivia Harrison, the surviving wives of John Lennon and George Harrison. The production has been authorised by Apple Corps Ltd., the band's holding company.

Nearly 45 years after their break-up, fans of The Beatles are still hungry for more from the iconic band.

As for the subject matter, the as-of-yet-unnamed documentary is slated to focus on the band’s earliest years, between 1960 and 1966, during which the Liverpool foursome released 20 studio and live records in total, from their first record Please Please Me, released in ’63 to the 1966 landmark, Revolver.

The musician and the Omaha-based billionaire, who dined together during their evening in Dundee, appear to notice the photo being taken but do not object to the cheery fans.

Paul McCartney is back and evidently feeling much better after his health scare in May which landed him in a Tokyo hospital for six days. The 72-year-old former Beatle was forced to cancel a number of concerts in Japan and Korea after he came down with a viral infection on 16th May.

McCartney performed at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York on Saturday (5th July) and appeared to be back on top form, as USA Today reports. He is continuing his Out There tour, the Asia leg of which had to be cancelled due to his illness. Although McCartney initially cancelled only one night in Tokyo (17th May), it soon became apparent he would not be well enough to continue on to the other venues in Japan. He was due to perform in Seoul, Korea on 28th May but was also forced to cancel.

Paul McCartney has set about reassuring his fans that he feels absolutely fine following a nasty virus that largely ruled him out of the Japan leg of his world tour and a show in South Korea, not to mention a handful of American dates.

Bad news, McCartney fans – the legendary musician has postponed several dates from his US tour, on recommendation from his doctor. Macca will not start the tour as planned because of a prolonged illness which confined him to the hospital for longer than expected, according to his website.

Keep calm and carry on, the tour will continue in July.

The “Out There” tour was supposed to kick off this Saturday in  Lubbock, Texas, but his recovery from an undisclosed virus requires plenty of rest, as per his doctor’s recommendation. McCartney came down with the virus last month and was hospitalized soon after. He has now spent several weeks in recovery.

Paul McCartney was forced to cancel his appearance in Toyko on Saturday (17th May) because he was suffering from a virus. The 71-year-old is currently travelling with his Out There tour but was unable to appear in Tokyo as his doctors deemed him too unwell to perform at the National Stadium.

The Beatles star was seemingly unwell on Friday (16th May) but his symptoms progressed over the following 24 hours. McCartney posted an apology on his Facebook page, stating “I am very sorry to all my fans as I was greatly looking forward to the concert, but the situation is out of my hands.”

Fans who were unable to see McCartney perform will be able to see the singer on Monday, when he continues his tour. He promised fans he would be well enough on Sunday to appear and that tickets from the cancelled show would be valid for an additional performance on Monday. Considering how much fans have paid for the tickets, they should be entitled to at least catch a glimpse at McCartney. According to The Washington Post, tickets ranged from $130 to $650.

Madonna has recently been suffering from a minor injury from dancing in high heels, yet the 'Holiday' singer was not letting this get in the way of her performance. It was revealed early last week that Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr would be among the performers at this years Grammy Awards, a prospect that had a number of people speculating that this spelled an on-stage reunion between the two surviving Beatles. The drummer was in attendance at an awards gala put on by The David Lynch Foundation in Los Angeles on Monday, 20 January, where he was bestowed with the Lifetime of Peace & Love Award. Whilst there, he was grilled on his upcoming Grammys appearance and whilst he sidestepped the part concerning whether he and Paul will be performing together at the ceremony, he did confirm that a special performance involving the two will be taking place some time before it.

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr are set to perform at this years 56th Grammy Awards, with their inclusion to the Grammys set list being announced this week by the music awards showcase. Although the organisers for the event have revealed that the pair will perform, they have yet to specify whether the two will appear on stage together at all, a prospect that most are hoping for.

Paul McCartney sent a ripple of excitement through his London fans today when he announced that he'd be playing a gig in Covent Garden then made good with his promise by rocking in a lorry with a full band in tow. "I'm getting ready to pop up in Covent Garden at 1pm today. Oh baby!" he tweeted to plenty of frenzied glee.

It’s hard to deny that Miley Cyrus is the talk of the town these days, but one person, who isn’t all that impressed, is Sir Paul McCartney. Not impressed by all the heat the young singer has been getting that is. McCartney is a respected name in the music business and has managed to maintain a near spotless reputation through the years, so he might know a thing or two about surviving in show business.

Sir Paul McCartney surprised 400 students from Queens High School in New York on Wednesday (Oct 7th) by playing a surprise gig for them.

The Frank Sinatra School for the Arts' auditorium was packed full of the city's best art students and had McCartney conduct a "master class".

"This beats going to class", said the 71 year-old as he graced the stage with his band and the screaming audience indicated that they to agree.

Music lovers at the iHeartRadio Music Festival last weekend (September 20th-21st 2013) were in for a treat as Justin Timberlake rounded off the event with a few new tunes.

It was a rather special set from the 'Suit and Tie' singer who has dealt well with the endless live shows and televised performances pretty much running through the whole year. He was introduced to the stage by undefeated welterweight boxer floyd mayweather who crowned him 'the heavyweight champion of music'; a prestigious title that his thrilled audience certainly didn't appear to dispute. As well as performing some timeless hits from 'Cry Me A River' to 'SexyBack' to 'Mirrors', JT unleashed some brand new tracks from 'The 20/20 Experience' follow-up, 'The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2'. He sang his most recent single 'TKO', as well as 'True Blood' and 'Only When I Walk Away'. Even aside from the music Justin was an act not to be missed, oozing with charisma as he owned the stage with his entertaining and often comedic dance routines.

Other notable performances from the weekend came from everyone's favourite controversy Miley Cyrus, who belted out hits such as 'Wrecking Ball' and 'We Can't Stop' wearing a customary revealing outfit; Joan Jett, who teamed up with Ke$ha in an unusual performance which celebrated her 55th birthday; and Paul McCartney, who was promoting his, quite literally, 'New' album set for release on October 15th.

A new video has been released to promote The Beatles' upcoming album release showcasing songs that the Liverpudlian band performed in session with the BBC. Entitled, On Air - Live At The BBC Volume 2, the new record will comprise of a 63 track, 2 disc album featuring a "48 page booklet with rare photos and introduction by Paul McCartney" as well as 37 unreleased performances and 23 excerpts of solid studio banter.

On Air... will reportedly also include 10 previously unheard songs that the band played together but did not record with their record label, EMI, including their cover of Chuck Berry's 'I'm Talking About You' and the 19th century, oft covered 'Beautiful Dreamer,' according to The Independent.

Paul McCartney fans at the Outside Lands festival were given a real treat on Friday evening (August 9, 2013) with the Beatles legend performing with the string virtuosos, the Kronos Quartet. The quartet are perhaps best known for their work with Tom Waits, David Bowie, Bjork and even the poet Allen Ginsberg, but the strings perfectly complimented McCartney's hit Yesterday - a track usually backed only by the musician's idiosyncratic guitar work, though rarely played live.

Though the former Beatle continues to sell out shows around the globe, he has on occasions been guilty of failing to change up his set - something that he's rectified in the past year or so. At Outside Festival, he played the more obscure Fab Four tracks Lovely Rita and Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite, as well as Yesterday, according to Rolling Stone magazine.

The Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival is back on August 9th - 11th 2013 bringing us the best in art and music as we see the likes of Paul McCartney, Nine Inch Nails and Red Hot Chili Peppers top this year's bill.

San Francisco hosts this annual festival which has soared in popularity since the first event in 2008. It takes place at Golden Gate Park and, as well as some brilliant bands and artists being on show all weekend, presents some fantastic food and drink offerings from the Bay Area. Food includes everything from mac and cheese and hot dogs to falafel and noodles and there'll be food trucks and special cheese and chocolate stalls good enough to pull you away from the awesome music for a while. Having played in the West End last year, the Beatles musical Let It Be opened on Broadway last night (24th July) in the midst of an on-going copyright infringement lawsuit that has been filed by the creators of rival tribute show, Rain: A Tribute To The Beatles. The people behind Rain claim that Let It Be incorporates elements of their 2010-11 show, including musical arrangements of hits, hairstyles, similar Scouser banter, and a selection of 28 of the 31 songs that Rain brought to Broadway.

According to the New York Times, Peter Cane, a lawyer for Let It Be's producers, Jeff Parry and Annerin Productions, argued that the copyright claim was absurd. Speaking to the NY Times, Cane said "Let It Be is a tribute to The Beatles, not to the four guys who impersonate The Beatles. How do you monopolise the ability to present an impersonation of The Beatles? How many different ways can you really do it? The Beatles acted a certain way, they played certain notes, they spoke a certain way."

Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine is engaged to Behati Prinsloo. His representative confirmed their engagement in a statement issued on Tuesday 16th July. The statement, made to People magazine, reads: "Adam Levine and his girlfriend Behati Prinsloo are excited to announce they are engaged to be married"

The couple started dating in May 2012 but separated earlier this year. It's come as something of a surprise when Levine proposed to Prinsloo over the weekend. It's certainly a romantic story with such a spontaneous demonstration of love. However, the singer's involvement with Behati is somewhat cliché.
